Reporting to the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, completes financial analysis activities for Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) and its subsidiaries. Develops methodologies for financial planning and analysis, long-term capital tracking, and supporting the operating budget process. Working with all levels of NCH management, provides timely, accurate and useful financial and statistical information that supports financial planning and performance analysis.

1.Responsible for the maintenance of the Axiom Software Budgeting and Performance Reporting Tool. This includes the loading, validation, and auditing of all data, as well as training, security and end-user support. Assists in the preparation of detailed management and budget reports within the Axiom Software.

2.Assists with the budget process throughout the organization; creates models for departments to use in preparation and calculation of budgets; conducts trainings and high-level meetings with VPs, Executive Directors, Directors, and Managers to guide them through their budget development. Prepares budget data including salaries, FTEs, operating expenses and balance sheets.

3.Provides financial analysis on a monthly basis and ad hoc in response to user requests and noted trends in financial performance.

4.Works with key leaders to analyze various scenarios to allocate and track financial resources to alternative capital projects, as needed. Provides a high level of financial analysis and support to the organization.

5.Monitors and manages NCH's long-term financial planning model, develops multi-year income and balance sheet projections using various sets of assumptions. Updates the financial model periodically to reflect new trends and changes.

Analyzes proposed capital purchases and business ventures. Analyzes proposed and existing risk based opportunities across the entire system of care and updates financial projections.

6.Provides financial analysis on a monthly basis and ad hoc in response to user requests and noted trends in financial performance.

7.Adheres to all Northwest Community standards, policies and procedures.

1.A Bachelor's Degree in finance, business administration, public administration, or management required.

Master's degree in business, finance or healthcare administration preferred.

2.Minimum five years of progressively responsible healthcare financial analysis experience required.

3.Expert knowledge of and ability to utilize Axiom Budget and Performance Reporting.

4.Expert knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, Powerpoint) required.

5.A very high level of interpersonal and communication skills is necessary to interact effectively with all levels of NCH staff and management.

6.A high level of organizational skills necessary to complete complex, detailed, accurate and timely multiple projects and assignments.

7.A high level of leadership skill is necessary to lead multiple groups that do not report directly to this position and may operate in a subordinate, peer or supervisory capacity. Ability to prioritize resources, set deadlines and monitor progress.

8.The ability to maintain a flexible work schedule to accommodate overtime or peak periods.

9.A very high level of analytical skills necessary to analyze highly complex sets of data, identify and explain variances, and provide input for development of action plans.

Analyzes and evaluates operational areas and provides recommendations to improve departments' operational and budgetary performance. Provides decision support to department management and staff through all phases of process implementation utilizing standard project management techniques and methodologies. 1. Develops reports, presentations, and narrative descriptions to communicate dashboard analysis findings, conclusions, and recommendations. Develops recommendations for metric-based operational goals across Patient Access departments by identifying key performance indicators and desired results. Supports Patient Accounting initiatives through analysis and reporting of operating, financial, and statistical information. Compiles monthly reports for review by department director, including Patient Accounting dashboards. 2. Identify variances, and trends impacting financial performance and recommend solutions based on statistical analysis of internal practices and external influences such as economic changes, regional business conditions and regulatory impact. 3. Processes, edits, and reconciles 835 files to achieve total payment accuracy and processes, edits and reconciles 837 files to clearinghouse. 4. Imports and validates professional billing remittances reconciling errors as needed. 5. Maintains and updates departmental vendor scorecards, Key Performance Indicators (KPI's), and matrices. Measures, interprets, and monitors all key performance indicator reports, including staff quality and productivity. 6. Processes statements and bad debt accounts. Directs the transfer and reconciliation of relevant files and accounts among vendors/external agencies in a timely manner. 7. Identifies and communicates to management opportunities for system/process and performance improvements. Collaborates with management to develop and document department project goals and timelines to ensure project adherence to the goals of Northwest Community Hospital. Serves as team leader in implementing process redesigns, system documentation, implementation strategies, and user training changes. 8. Computes and compiles statistical data of patient account cost centers to identify trends and variances warranting the attention of management. 9. Adheres to all Northwest Community Hospital standards, policies, and procedures 1. Associate's degree in Healthcare, Business or a related field required. 2. Minimum 2 years experience in a financial and/or revenue cycle analytics analyst role required. 3. Healthcare revenue cycle experience strongly required. 4. Advanced knowledge and experience using financial analysis tools and complex data mining systems with multiple databases required 5. Epic Professional Billing experience preferred. 6. Strong project management and data analysis skills to gather, measure, and interpret, data and to manage overall expectations and deliverables. 7. Excellent written communication, verbal communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills. 8. Self-directed with the ability to work with multiple stakeholders and teams. 9. Superior analytical and problem solving skills to make quality, independent decisions as well as the ability to collaborate effectively to make decisions with other leaders. 10. Ability to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines and multiple interruptions. 11.
