The U.S. Finance team is looking for a Senior Finance Manager with strong financial and business acumen as well as superb analytical skills, to support and drive strategic and financial initiatives in support of our Federal sales organization and be the CFO for the team. This role will be aligned to the Microsoft US Regulated Industries Federal space - $2bn
This role will partner with the Federal Sales Leadership Team to establish and drive tactical and financial/strategic execution for the business. You will be responsible for implementing and supporting an evolving financial measurement model that supports and enhances the Sales organizations ability to drive transformation and manage performance. In addition, you will be expected to surface insights related to our workload opportunities and expose areas requiring risk mitigation where appropriate.
To be successful in this key role, you will be extremely self-motivated, with unquestionable analytical horsepower, being able to rapidly identify business drivers/levers and translate business performance at an executive altitude. Being results oriented will ensure you not only keep pace with this rapidly evolving organization, but also play a pivotal role in leading transformation across the business. Your executive maturity and balanced self-awareness will be crucial in influencing your business partners and assuming a leadership position spanning beyond the pure finance mandate.
Partner with the respective field sales leadership team to drive strategic and financial initiatives, identify sales opportunities and leverage or evangelize tools that can be used by the business to realize these opportunities.
Provide analyses and advice to support the Field sales leader on business issues in the region and support the sales team in achieving revenue and profitability goals. e.g. discount analysis, ROI, revenue KPIs, Complex Deal Economics
Partner and perform routine and ad hoc financial analyses for field sales leadership
Collaborate with field finance peers in U.S. Regulated Industries to ensure efficiency in scaling practices, tools, analyses
Engage in Commercial (Regulated Industries, Enterprise Commercial, SMC & OCP, and Services) initiatives to collectively drive the business and the finance organization to either scale, transform, evolve or become more efficient
Manage the monthly/quarterly forecasting process for the business and conduct analysis of variances to plan and forecast
Drive the annual revenue and discretionary opex plan for the business
Provide oversight and support for headcount and operating expenses and ensure the business complies with all Microsoft accounting policies
10+ years' experience in a Finance role
BA/BS in Finance or a related degree; MBA is desirable

Drive business transformation to the Cloud by focusing on Digital Transformation Wins and New Business Models
Leverage data analysis and insights from NB & CS Team to enable growth especially in Azure, O365 and D365 penetration
Leverage insights from US One Commercial Partner & Services to land actions on partner performance to deliver Cloud Revenue/consumption goals.
Purchase intent reporting & annuity mix analysis
Actively engage with BDMs for key /strategic accounts.
Articulate the IOU story through insights, KPIs, analytics and influence the Leadership Team for accurate IOU performance
Leverage Modern BI & predictive analytics to drive healthy dialogue around business forecast, month end close reporting
Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variances
Own the Finance ROB for the IOU including partnership on the NB Team driven CFO forecast
Be the Finance front-end specialist for IOU deal insights.
Partner with Licensing/BD to optimize deal structuring and closing. Provide end-to-end assessment of deal and customer profitability incl. COGS, discount, ECIF, etc. including compliance aspects.
Ensure DWR and deal-based investment requests result in high quality submissions
Provide insights on utilization and ROI for approved Microsoft investments
Optimize the Field Operating Model
Ensure good allocation and management of local resources to drive IOU growth and shareholder value
Drive standardization, simplification and Finance transformation
Evangelize and land the Compliance framework as Finance Champ. Facilitator to business partners in compliance matters
