The Senior Finance Manager, Innovation Finance is responsible for all financial aspects of the Ocean Spray's New Product Development process, also called Compass. The position will maximize the financial results of "Core" and "New" innovation launches by providing financial expertise, strategic partnership, & thought leadership which will enable sound decision-making, project prioritization, and financial forecasting. The position will work with Innovation teams across all Ocean Spray product categories.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive communicator who will become an indispensable & trusted advisor to Ocean Spray's unique Innovation department. The position will collaborate cross functionally with departments including brand marketing, innovation, commercial, operations and finance teams for input and commercial expertise in pricing, volume forecasts, portfolio mix, product costing, capital planning & A&P investment.

The position is located at our Boston office in the Seaport District. (Flexibility to travel to the Lakeville, MA headquarters required). Relocation assistance is available.

A Day in the Life of the Senior Finance Manager:

  • Provide financial analysis support for all Innovation projects, leveraging multiyear P&L models to ensure projects meet key financial hurdles across all product categories

  • Co-pilot, influence and align cross-functional stakeholders on key financial metrics, measures, hurdles and thresholds intended to deliver optimized innovation performance for the enterprise

  • Challenge teams in an unbiased, but constructive way and work with them to ensure new item launch proposals are financially viable and have a clearly defined path to success and profitability

  • Analyze all projects from cost structure standpoint (in house vs. outsourced production impact) & develop processes for accurate cost of goods measurement, capital governance & inventory management

  • Own standardization of end-to-end financial management of Innovation projects including P&L creation, financial metric measurements and optimization, scenario planning, post launch analysis, portfolio strategy analysis and sku optimization

  • Play key role in Integrated Business Planning process from innovation standpoint and proactively identify operational opportunities and ensure the mitigation of risks

  • Manage multiple Innovation projects; create and maintain robust innovation tracking process by building a financial innovation reporting dashboard for finance and innovation leadership team

  • Reports directly into Commercial Director, Finance

  • The role will have 1-2 direct reports

What We Are Looking For:

  • Sales / Brand / Innovation Finance experience strongly preferred within CPG industry

  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing others and ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships cross functionally at all levels

  • Effective verbal and written communication, presentation, and facilitation skills are essential with a proven ability to present at Senior Management level

  • Must be highly organized and able to prioritize & work independently in a fast-paced, complex and evolving business environment

  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results

  • Ability to think at both the strategic and implementation level - to think big while also diving deep

  • Results oriented, able to complete assignments in a timely and accurate manner, and the ability to manage competing priorities

  • Demonstrated ability in strategic and financial analysis, driving insights to action, develop standardized models across all product categories

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity

  • Strategy and project management skills

  • Minimum 7-10 years' experience in various roles demonstrating increasing responsibilities

  • Technologically savvy and Highly proficient use of Excel, PowerPoint & other Microsoft products

  • Consulting or consumer goods experience preferred

  • MBA preferred
