The Role

Dematic Corp is looking for a dynamic financial leader to lead its controlling activities of the US manufacturing plants and Engineering for North America. The position has visibility to senior levels of leadership in the organization including regional CEO/CFO and global executives. The right person will be able to operate at executive level but be willing to roll up their sleeves and spend time in the detail for example with cost accounting and bottoms up forecasting. The position has broad exposure and is an excellent springboard for the candidate that wishes to move forward in the organization to advanced leadership roles.

Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Global Finance, the position will direct and lead a team of 5 analysts to deliver on the following:

  • Business partner with VP Engineering and VP Operations to drive business results.

  • Own and operate the forecasting process for operations, engineering and certain support functions. In this the leader will partner with regional finance teams and operations teams to ensure forecasting process is streamlined and accurate.

  • Review and present the monthly actual/forecast results to various Executive levels in the organization providing detailed insight into trends and opportunities while providing recommendations for improvement as required.

  • Ability to analyze business trends, the curiosity to dig into the details to get to root causes and finally explain complex financial situations in simple terms.

  • Support for 2 US manufacturing plants plus 1 cross docking / kitting facility with costing and financial analysis including:

  • Standard costing (including monthly reviews and annual standard setting)

  • Drive accuracy with monthly standard cost audit checks

  • Inventory management including cycle counts and forecasting of inventory

  • Monthly forecast, annual budget and actual to budget/forecast variance causal

  • Absorption analysis and cost management

  • Work load and capacity calculations (SIOP)

  • Headcount management

  • Overall controlling of the manufacturing departments of all sites.

  • Support Regional Engineering including

  • Supporting local operations and finance teams in cost center planning and hourly rate calculation

  • Monthly forecast, annual budget planning, actual to forecast/budget variance causal

  • Absorption analysis and cost management

  • Work load and capacity calculation (SIOP)

  • Headcount management

  • Overall controlling of the departments.

  • Support Indirect Cost Centers [for example Procurement, Quality, and EHS&S].

  • Lead and manage the annual budget process within the areas of responsibility.

  • Leadership, performance management and talent development for 5 direct reports.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor degree with a strong concentration in Finance and/or Accounting.

  • Demonstrated career progression with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience in managing a high performing team with a servant leadership mindset

  • Exposure to a manufacturing environment and standard costing within a large corporation.

  • Experience with SAP is advantageous

Primary Function: The Global Credit and Collections Center located in Grand Rapids MI has an exciting opportunity for an Eaton Intern Program (Finance) participant. This person will report directly to the Global Credit and Collections Manager and will be engaged with the Credit and Collections Representatives, Customers, Site Sales Teams, Contracts, and the Aerospace leadership team.
