Sr. Finance Manager

Job Description Summary

The Senior Finance Manager is responsible for leading the real estate finance and accounting activities for one of Cushman & Wakefield's key Global Occupier Services accounts. The Senior Finance Manager partners with client management and account leadership to deliver a high level of client service and ensure accurate financial analysis and reporting of the client's corporate real estate portfolio and strategic initiatives.

Job Description

Essential Job Duties:

  • Ensure accurate and timely periodic accounting closes and all client finance deliverables are consistently met

  • Produce month end reporting for client in agreed formats on all financial activities of the portfolio of properties under management

  • Maintain thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure

  • Prepare client and corporate budgets and forecasts based on direction from facility and project management team members

  • Manage account payroll function including bi-weekly funding requests and payroll budgets and forecasts

  • Review and approve monthly bank reconciliations and oversee accounts payable and cash management processes

  • Review team members' financial reports to ensure quality, timeliness and audit compliance

  • Collect data, prepare reports and provide guidance related to trends, potential cost savings and building/performance metrics; incorporate key data into client scorecards and dashboards

  • Record internal revenue properly and remit collections of payroll and fees to corporate accounting on a monthly basis

  • Track team compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures; approve banking or financial transactions, schedules and reports in accordance with the SOC Policies and Procedures manual and training

  • Monitor team and/or market-wide requirements of timely tax payments, revenue portal updates, time tracking and Corporate Aging follow-up

  • Assess team/department workflows and policies to recommend or implement improvements in operating efficiencies and effectiveness

  • Lead departmental projects and/or assume a leadership role on one of the Client Accounting Committees

  • Performs other related duties as required including, but not limited to, internal and external audit support and ad hoc financial reporting requests

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Lead, assign and delegate tasks to Client Accountants and Client Accounts Payable staff

  • Develop direct reports through goal setting, performance reviews and delivery of timely and meaningful performance feedback, while maintaining quality results and performance

  • Monitor team performance, available capacity, and training needs through conducting one-on-one meetings, team meetings and addressing deficiencies timely and professionally

  • May coordinate efforts of project team to complete work within project deadlines

  • Provide solutions to routine/complex problems

Education & Work Experience:

  • Four year college degree in Finance or Accounting required

  • CPA certification a plus

  • Seven to ten years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required

  • Experience with commercial real estate accounting and/or professional service outsourcing preferred

  • Specialized Knowledge/Skills Strong knowledge of Yardi and/or MRI software preferred; strong MS Office Proficiency; financial reporting for multiple entities preferred; strong customer service, time management and organizational skills; exceptional delegation skills with the ability to be a hands-on contributor and take initiative; ability to train, mentor and coach others effectively; results oriented with strong sense of urgency

Job Description PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITES: * Provides leadership to achieve the EHS strategy in partnering with account leadership. * Communicates the EHS vision and performance to internal and external stakeholders. * Organizes EHS processes for Cushman & Wakefield staff. * Collaborates with Account leadership to ensure implementation of EHS systems. * Administers processes in alignment with the client's EHS Management System. * Adopts a global health and safety management system based on United States and international best practice (such as the ISO 45001). * Implements Cushman & Wakefield EHS Corporate processes and systems. * Implements the Cushman & Wakefield EHS Learning Management System and Software platforms. * Identifies risk associated with the management of Cushman & Wakefield contractors. * Provides risk assessments and client's request and coordinates assessments and inspections with the Client. * Collaborates with the client to ensure state and federal regulatory requirements are implemented in accordance with the client's existing programs. * Participates in investigations of EHS nonconformances and violations and prepares corrective action plans when requested. * Maintains and reports Quarterly against an annual health and safety plan and compliance register. * Oversees the EHS Champion Process. REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES: o Bachelor of Science degree is required. Specialization in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering or Environmental Sciences is preferred. o Requires 10 years of experience within the EHS profession. o Demonstrated experience in the application of EHS management systems. o Broad knowledge of Environmental, Occupational Health, regulations (OSHA/EPA/NFPA). o Self-motivated and able to work independently to find solutions. o Demonstrated leadership, influencing and collaboration skills. o Ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously. o Ability to leverage office systems such as Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, etc. o The ability to travel (approximately 30%). o Candidates with experience in a Manufacturing setting are desirable. o Candidates with experience with ISO 45001 are desirable. o Candidates with Professional Certifications (CSP, ASP, etc.) are highly desirable. o Experience within Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) is desired, but not required.
