Amazon seeks a Senior Finance Manager to play a key role on our AWS Specialized Sales Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a groundbreaking team. Job responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the key finance partner supporting the Specialized Sales leaders for Compute businesses providing financial support and business insights

  • Lead the development of financial models and advanced analytical tools that aid in key decision making

  • Build rhythm of the business processes that help business leaders understand progress to goals as well as strategic insights to guide overall direction

  • Perform ad-hoc analysis as needed and present findings to senior management

Have you had experience in past roles supporting decision making in rapidly evolving environments? Are you a self-starter with strong data gathering and modeling skills, a keen attention to detail, and prior experience working in a fast-paced environment? If so, the AWS Specialized Sales Finance team could be the right fit for you!

  • BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, and Computer Science) or equivalent and a minimum 10 years of finance experience, OR master's degree and 8 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Advanced modeling skills including advanced Excel skills

  • Excellent business judgment, including strong written and oral communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, competing priorities in an energetic, fast-paced environment

  • Comfort with ambiguity and creative problem-solving

  • Ability to lead teams in a cross-functional setting

  • Highly innovative and flexible; ability to work with autonomy

  • MBA or similar degree is preferred.

VIEW JOBS 5/23/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-08-21T00:00 Amazon is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to join the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Sales and Marketing (SMS) Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) group. The FP&A team is responsible for managing financial rhythms of the business, including the annual operating plan, long range plan, regular forecast process, and for providing analytical support to senior management. The role operates in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, and influences the decisions of senior business leaders both within AWS and across the broader Amazon through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, and the presentation of alternatives. The successful candidate must be able to think and act both strategically and tactically. Primary responsibilities include: * Lead a team of analysts and manage the month-end close process, monthly forecasting, and operating plan cycles * Coordinate across both business teams and FP&A teams to support reporting requirements and drive cross functional alignment * Build review packages, forecast models, and handle day-to-day activities related to forecasting/planning. * Help streamline planning/reporting, as well as identify improvement and prioritization opportunities within these business areas * Manage business partner support including planning and tracking Headcount and Operating Expenditure spend. * Be a thought leader to improve and simplify processes, drive standardization, and build scalable systems to support business growth. * Providing leadership, guidance and implementation on driving process improvement * Possess the passion and demonstrated skills for developing relationships, processes and continuous improvement * Act as a key finance member on a cross-functional and highly technical team * BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, and Computer Science) or equivalent and a minimum 10 years of finance experience, or master's degree and 8 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. * MBA preferred * Exceptional analytic skills and a demonstrated ability to build financial models for business forecasting, variance analysis, and problem solving * Experience performing financial and ad hoc analyses using advanced Excel functionality and providing recommendations based on results to senior management for strategic decision-making. * Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously and drive projects to completion * Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment * SQL, Cognos/TM1 and FP&A skills a plus Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
