Sr. Finance Coordinator | Healthcare

Regional healthcare company that offers a world-class health care system is seeking a Research Finance Coordinator at their corporate offices in Orange County, CA. The Research Finance Coordinator supports the Research Office and with minimal direction and considerable use of independent judgment. This role will utilize financial concepts, communication skills, and experience/knowledge of the research enterprise to provide research finance services. This role will support the development of projects and processes from study initiation through completion by collaborating with investigators and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Works efficiently to ensure accounts are worked thoroughly and within a timely manner.
* Assists department, service line, or strategic focus area with administrative and financial activities associated with research or other sponsored projects.
* Assists with budget-to-actual analyses and financial projections.
* Perform accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks for fund accounts.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
* Assist with financial projects and is a resource of many Financial Research aspects.

Skills:
* Minimum of five plus (5+) years of accounting experience within healthcare
* Excellent communication and organizational skills, and solid foundational, financial, and operational knowledge
* Experience with budgeting for healthcare research.
* Experience with budget negotiations.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, accounting software, and excellent with databases.
* Ability to work accurately in a high-volume processing environment under pressure and on deadline.
* Knowledge in EPIC, Velos and Lawson preferred.

* Very professional communication, as will represent institution during negotiations and work with outside sponsors
* High attention to detail, will view 100’s of line items
* Healthcare exp. with larger organization and also a mid-size private organizations should only be considered due to the larger volume
Education:
* Bachelor's Degree required.
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent experience in a related field and minimum of two plus (2+) years healthcare research experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
