Job Summary
The major responsibility of this position is to assist the Commercial Product Management team in optimizing our pricing processes and resulting financial performance. Additionally, this role will prepare, analyze, and communicate financial information to assess financial performance by product.
Essential Functions
Participate in pricing process via contract reviews, program approval and initial P&L preparation for new business, formal bids, and contract renewals.
Support the monthly close process including journal entry preparation, reconciliations, and reporting of results.
Independently analyze and report data to Product Management team to assist in monitoring profitability.
Investigate variances from the plan.
Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies.
Assist with requests from internal and external auditors.
Assist Controller, Product Management with budget preparation and related analysis.
Assist Controller, Product Management in the preparation of capital requests for growth initiatives of the Commercial team
Coordinate regular price audits to ensure validity of pricing in ERP and on invoicing.
Job Qualifications
Required
Two to Four (2-4) years of progressive accounting experience, demonstrating ability to learn new business processes and apply relevant finance and accounting knowledge to those processes.
BS in Accounting, Finance, or related degree.
Excellent communication skills demonstrated both verbally and written.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Ability to utilize judgment in decision making process and decisions related to job tasks
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Exceptional people skills: establishing personal and professional relationships among diverse teams
Good understanding of financial concepts
Attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality • Flexibility, versatility, dependability
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management (internally/externally), and employees
Advanced knowledge of Excel and Business Intelligence tools.
Manufacturing costing knowledge.
Experience with analyzing effectiveness of pricing and providing input into profit optimization.
