Overview

The purpose of this position is to assist the Sr. Analytics Manager and Fair Lending Director in executing the statistical and investigative analysis in all lending areas and life cycles to identify areas of fair lending concern to improve Trustmark's internal controls and reduce the bank's reputation and regulatory risk exposure.

Responsibilities

  • Fair Lending / HMDA and non HMDA Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting: Develop monitoring procedures and execute analysis designed to evaluate data for evidence of disparate treatment/impact. Conduct comparative or investigative file reviews to 1) determine whether policies were followed, 2) identify policies/ trends/ data integrity issues that may contribute to heightening the fair lending risk, and 3) recommend internal control improvements, and 4) identify specific instances where remediation may be required. Summarizes and reports results of fair lending analytics, file reviews and qualitative analyses.

  • Training: Assists in determining the bank's annual fair lending coordinates program revisions with Corporate Training as necessary, and assists with training delivery as needed.

  • Fair Lending Risk Assessment (FLRA): Assists the Fair Lending Risk Assessment Coordinator by contributing analytic results, context about the bank's fair lending policies, practices, internal controls and other risk factors to support the periodic FLRA process.

Qualifications

  • Preferred in-depth knowledge of Fair Lending Analytics techniques

  • Required experience in conducting fair lending analysis

  • Strong knowledge of fair lending laws and regulations, as well as bank policies, practices, and operations

  • CRA/FL Wiz or other fair lending software knowledge is preferred

  • Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and demonstrated ability to provide written reports that accurately and clearly summarize issues and present solutions in an understandable and logical manner

  • Ability to train and coach team members on regulatory changes or system changes a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to develop project plans and independently coordinate and complete projects

  • Ability to analyze and evaluate the integrity of data and identify trends

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other utility applications

  • Detail oriented, desire for accuracy and well organized

  • Independent Decision Making

  • Multi-task oriented

  • Four year undergraduate degree (finance, economics, business, accounting preferred) with

  • Five (+) years of progressive related experience preference in Fair Lending and/or conducting analyses

  • Experience in credit related functions is a plus

This role will assist in identifying gaps in internal controls utilizing key risk and key performance indicators. The FLRA coordinator will assist the Director of Fair Lending in the implementation of risk mitigation strategies; track and report progress and validate corrective actions. Responsibilities Fair Lending Risk Assessment Project Management: * Manage the FLRA day to day data gathering process and analysis using established metrics including KRI/KPIs * Coordinate informational resourcing among the various contributors to the FLRA * Provide summary reporting of results derived from the fair lending internal control analysis Communication: * Keep current on fair lending related laws and regulations in order to apply them in risk assessment of external factors * Works with business and support areas to interpret findings to accurately assess risk * Participates in issue resolution for items noted during the FLRA * May assist in preparation for regulatory exams Reporting and Issue Tracking: * Prepares summary reporting on results of the FLRA to the Fair Lending Director * Coordinates, tracks and reports issue resolution for items noted during the Validate that FLRA issues are appropriately mitigated Qualifications * Knowledge of related state and federal compliance regulations, fair lending policies and procedures * Knowledge of Bank compliance, fair lending activities; and operational practices and operations * Knowledge of risk assessment techniques, mitigation strategies * Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively * Prior audit experience helpful * Ability to analyze internal control environments * Good interpersonal skills * Detail oriented, accurate, and organized * Independent decision making * Multi-task oriented * Four year undergraduate degree (preferable in finance, business, or accounting) or * Three (+) years of financial industry experience preferably in lending operational areas, or regulatory experience or risk assessment.
