JOB DESCRIPTION

Brief Job Description

RTX Enterprise Reality Services has an opening for a Senior Facilities Electrical Principal Specialist, within the maintenance department. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for maintaining, operating, and upgrading the electrical infrastructure systems (low, medium, and high voltage). The candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of the core electrical systems through preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, conditional maintenance and planned annual maintenance shutdowns. Must be able to work during some holidays, occasional off hours and do occasional light travel

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain core electrical systems including, but not limited to substations, distribution systems and emergency power systems, UPS, 400HZ power converters and some specialty systems

  • Maintain Arc Flash, breaker coordination studies and panel labeling utilizing Etap

  • Maintain in-house electrical metering system

  • Interface with customers regarding small projects and to help trouble shoot electrical issues related to the electrical infrastructure.

  • Develop plans and execute two electrical maintenance shutdowns annually. Reviews practices, procedures, and processes to improve electrical systems maintenance procedures to reduce business risk related to core electrical systems.

  • Ensure installation, repair or construction of core electrical infrastructure are fully commissioned and working properly before turn- over to customers.

  • Must be able to review blueprints, detailed scope of work (SOW), basis-of-estimates (BOE), and work within the financial/accounting systems established.

  • Able to follow procurement processes according to Corporate Policies and Procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with all Raytheon, Federal, State, and local codes, regulations, and standards with regards to assigned electrical systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with large multi-site and campus type facilities.

  • Experience managing multiple projects concurrently while working in a matrix environment.

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills and ability to communicate with Leadership, Suppliers, General Contractors, and internal customers.

  • Able to adapt quickly to changing requirements and manage multiple projects concurrently.

  • Proficiency in reading and creating CAD Drawings.

  • Understanding of OSHA, NFPA 70E and 110 as well as national, state, local codes and regulations concerning facilities operations.

  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications; Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Project

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl, work on ladders, scaffolding and lifts as well as wear personal protective equipment appropriate for the task

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering preferred

  • Experience with Prism CMMS or equivalent work order Preventive Maintenance and Purchasing Modules

  • Knowledge of defense industry procurement practices

  • Fundamental working knowledge of building automation systems and electrical metering systems

  • Experience using Etap software for Arc Flash and Breaker Coordination Studies

  • CEM from the Association of Energy Engineers

Experience and Education

  • This position typically requires a university bachelor's degree in engineering and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in Engineering and minimum 5 years experience. In the absence of a degree a combination of education, relevant experience and/or certifications in lieu of degree may be considered

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 105,000 USD - 221,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
