The purpose of the Sr. EnvironmentalSpecialist role is to plan and manage environmental programs to ensure BHGE isremaining compliant with organization and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate and develop permit submittals for existing and new facilities
Manage permit compliance
Manage and assist with environmental reporting (Tier II, Waste, Air, TRI)
Act as a liaison for BHGE with regulatory agencies
Manage corrective action plans and develop responses to regulatory agencies
Provide guidance to field HSE and operations personnel relating to all aspects of environmental compliance
Develop and provide environmental training
Conduct safety and/or environmental audits of BHGE facilities, waste vendors and third party tollers to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with regulatory laws.
Handle special projects as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in environmental discipline preferred and 5+ years of experience
Understanding of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations including RCRA, SPCC, NPDES and CAA.
General understanding of state specific environmental regulations relating to storage tanks, storm water, air, and waste
Ability to read and interpret state and federal regulations
Ability to provide general environmental training to employees
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to manage projects from start to finish
Excellent analytical skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong presentation skills.
Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management.
Certified Hazardous Material Manager
HSE experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
Proficient in Excel and Access Databases
