Position summary

T-Mobile is America's supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Senior Engineers, Systems Architecture located in Frisco, TX will be responsible for identifying and documenting technical requirements for the systems deployed in T-Mobile networks based on product and/or system architecture requirements.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Complete system detailed design and associated documentation including call flows, cost estimates for business case analysis, impact studies, traffic engineering/capacity analysis, and operation support documentation.

• Conduct design reviews of assigned projects with engineering peer group to ensure requirements are complete and drive network architecture changes and evolution.

• Work with cross-functional teams to implement and support company initiatives.

• Write RFPs/RFIs/RFQs for new technology, standards, and architecture and evaluate responses, and present recommendations to peers and executive team.

• Analyze and provide input on Product Development and Network Evolution and Strategy initiatives for all Core Network Elements and Products.

• Lead the transition of new technology testing efforts to downstream teams and conduct lab trials and evaluate multiple vendor products against 3GPP, IETF, and ETSI specs.

• Provide detailed feedback to vendor and internal teams and assist in budget preparation and equipment dimensioning.

• Pro-active and creative in identifying business challenges and matching innovative solutions.

• Telecommuting is permitted, but applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance.

Skill requirements:

• (1) Performing IMS Network Issues tracking and troubleshooting utilizing 3GPP nodes and its protocols: SBG/ATCF, PCRF P/I/SCSCF, Wireshark, IRIS,GTPV2, Diameter, HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, RTP, RTCP, and SIP;
• (2) Utilizing HPQC, Wireshark, IRIS, JDSU, MG-Soft MIB Browser, EMS, Ixia, Spirent, QXDM,GTPV2, Diameter, HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, RTP, RTCP, and SIP;
• (3) Working with Ericsson MSP features design including http content optimization, pacing, Toll Free Data, CDR steaming, MIND and Secure & Simple Entitlement flows and COS; and
• (4) Utilizing wireless network, engineering, and design as per 3GPP, SIP design and operational experience SDN/NFV for Network Transformation from legacy to virtualization.

Experience and education requirements:

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related, and 3 years of relevant work experience.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related, and 5 years of relevant work experience.
