Position Summary

Sr. Engineers, Systems Architecture to develop and evolve technical network and service architectures and design strategies to maintain, enhance, and evolve T-Mobile technology portfolio; and create, adapt or revise detailed schematics of network and service architecture, hardware and software selections, and implementation techniques and processes. Perform, evaluate, or interpret network simulation, test results, or leading-edge technology studies. Apply technical documentation and presentation skills to translate complex ideas to stakeholders and management team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, plan, design, and develop advanced network technologies by translating customer requirements or strategic business objectives into a final product design for projects of the highest complexity and technologies.

  • Apply experience with end-to-end flow of GSM/UMTS and LTE and 3GPP standards.

  • Drive timeline and vendor roadmaps to ensure that T-Mobile requirements are adequately met and to close any development gaps.

  • Support cross-functional teams throughout the entire life of the product. Products include mobile data services, EPC network platforms (MME, SGW, PGW, PCRF, DRA, HSS), and IP services including DNS, IP Routers, and load balancers.

  • Apply experience in mobile EPC core network nodes, including MME, SGW, PGW, PCRF, HSS.

  • Apply experience in application protocols in mobile packet Core, which include NAS, S1AP, S1-U, GTPv1, S11, S5/S8, Diameter, GTPP, S6a, Gx, Gy, Charging.

  • Apply experience with IP network protocol stacks including TCP, UDP, DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP.

  • Evaluate new and existing technology options that support business goals.

  • Lead initiatives for network trials and proof of concepts.

  • Apply experience developing design documents, performing network integration, validating network implementation, and optimizing mobile data networks and services.

  • Coordinate with cross functional teams and vendors and collaborate with stakeholders to create network designs that interface with several 3GPP network functions, scale nationwide, comprising several data centers, and continue to provide service to customers using high availability techniques.

  • Drive to improve designs, processes, and products by reducing cost, establishing and promoting standards-based technology solutions and improving efficiency and quality. Collaborate with product design and business development on technical solution options and write detail network design documents.

Functional and Technical Skills Requirements

Applicant's experience must include:

Minimum Experience and Education Requirements

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent and 3 years of relevant work experience as Sr. Engineer, Systems Architecture, Platform Engineer, Service Provider Mobility Support Engineer, Network Engineer, or related occupation.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must possess Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent and 5 years of relevant work experience as Sr. Engineer, Systems Architecture, Platform Engineer, Service Provider Mobility Support Engineer, Network Engineer, or related occupation.

Salary: Washington Pay: $149,214.06 to $176,100.00 per year

  • The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience.

  • At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance, while Retail and Business Sales roles are eligible for monthly or quarterly sales incentives.
