Position summary

T-Mobile is America's supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Senior Engineers, Software located in Frisco, TX will work closely with application architects to design software components focused on creating applications that leverage technologies for DevOps, microservices, and continuous deployment, and transition services to the cloud computing environment.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the lead developer for applications support for the T-Mobile network and customer service.

  • Understand system protocols, systems operations, and data flows, and stay abreast of current technology benefits.

  • Independently develop a full software stack and understand the building blocks, interactions, dependencies, and tools required to complete software and automation work.

  • Independently study the current technology and interact with system engineers to define system requirements and/or necessary requirements for automation.

  • Drive engineering projects by developing software solutions, conducting tests and inspections, and preparing reports and calculations.

  • Contribute to designs and implement new ideas and frameworks to improve existing and new systems, processes, and services.

  • Apply new industry perspectives to existing business models and review designs and processes to highlight more efficient ways to complete workload through industry perspectives.

  • Maintain knowledge of existing technology documents and create clear documentation for new code and systems used.

  • Document system designs, presentations, and business requirements for consumption and consideration at the manager level.

  • Ensure protection of company intellectual property.

  • Collaborate with technical teams and utilize system expertise to deliver technical solutions.

  • Contribute to new and existing technology options that support business goals and regularly interact with the Product Manager to ensure business needs are met.

  • Ensure code developed meets organizational standards and perform testing of application code as necessary.

  • Maintain the non-production environments.

  • Telecommuting is permitted, but applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance.

Skill requirements:

  • (1) Designing and developing complex multi-tiered applications using Java, Advanced Java, Spring, MySQL, MongoDB, Apache Kafka, Golang, and Node JS technologies.

  • (2) Working closely with Senior Architects to design and implement solutions for microservices.

  • (3) Conducting Test Driven Development using TestNG/JUnit/Wire mock.

  • (4) Deploying the containerized microservices artifacts to cloud infrastructure such as PCF.

  • (5) Triaging, troubleshooting, and fixing production issues.

  • (6) Using Camunda BPMN workflow engine to create BPMN workflows for microservices.

Experience and education requirements:

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Computer Engineering, or related, or its foreign equivalent, and 3 years of relevant work experience.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree Computer Engineering, or related, or its foreign equivalent, and 5 years of relevant work experience.
