Position summary

T-Mobile is America's supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Sr. Engineers, Software is located in Overland Park, KS will lead design, development and operational stability of the OpenText suite of products for efficient document generation, storage, retrieval and destruction of the content along with microservice capabilities to leverage these document management functions to support T-Mobile's business content needs.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design and develop fault tolerant, scalable, highly available resilient applications based on OpenText suite of products for Document Domain.

  • Build document domain taxonomies, metadata, content lifecycle management from generation through storage, retrieval to the purging/destruction of the business content.

  • Design and develop content migration tools to efficiently migrate large content from one application platform to another as one of the cost saving strategies to the company.

  • Build or enhance capability microservices or underlying microservices to support frontline business applications' document needs.

  • Ensure the operational stability of the Tier-1 Document Domain applications to support business continuity.

  • Review System Implementation steps in depth to ensure smooth system change deployment with zero impact and downtime.

  • Review and provide input to test cases and test results generated by software testers, automated software test suites to ensure bug free applications.

  • Support production operational activities such as deployments, performance tests, collecting metrics.

  • Works with Product Manager and Systems Reliability Engineers to obtain ongoing understanding of the Business and system workflows, project requirements and provide accurate effort estimates to build project schedules and timelines for the deliverables.

  • Documents and maintains design, workflow diagrams, dependencies and development standards.

  • Establishes positive relationships with external technical teams supporting the document domain such as Cloud, Networking, Storage, and DBAs to ensure domain stability and availability.

  • Proactively identifying security vulnerabilities/bugs in applications and fixing them on priority/criticality including but not limited to API authentication, authorization, multi-factor authentication, data encryption/hardening etc.

  • Upgrade application frameworks such as SpringBoot to stay in sync with latest supported versions.

  • Support content archival by migrating content from active systems to archival system for retention and compliance.

Skill requirements:

Must have some professional experience in each of the following:

  • Design and develop on OpenText suite of Products
  • OTDS, OTES, OTCS, OTAS, Search, Records Management, Metadata Management, Classifications, Retentions, and LiveReports.
  • Develop integrations with document domain applications using SOAP/REST APIs.

  • Design and develop migration tools for large content and metadata exports, imports between different content management applications to retire legacy applications, move applications between data centers or to archive the content.

  • Experience required in these programming languages/frameworks

  • Java SpringBoot, NodeJS, Angular,
  • Cloud technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, application containerization for developing resilient, stable, scalable web applications, micro-services and APIs.

  • Perform DevOps with Gitlab, code branching, CI/CD pipelines, integrated static code analysis, vulnerability scans.

  • Build applications, design application schema, review database performance, bottle necks, and deadlocks in different databases such as Oracle, MS SQL, and MySQL.

  • Utilize application gateways such as Apigee (On Prem and SaaS), and application testing along with performance using POSTMAN, SOAPUI, and Load Runner.

Experience and education requirements:

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Computer and Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related and 3 years of relevant work experience.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's in degree Computer and Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related and 5 years of relevant work experience.
