The Electrical Engineering department is seeking a Lab Technician to help in building prototypes, PCBA assembly, rework on fine pitch components and troubleshooting. This position assumes the candidate is also responsible for maintaining the electronic lab in good order with required equipment and supplies and for managing the assets. This Electrical Engineering technician will interface with all design engineers, will report directly to the Engineering manager and may have to provide support to engineers in the Mechanical department.
You are responsible for:
Perform complicated soldering, de-soldering and miscellaneous rework on fine pitch devices (about 20 mils), circuit boards, products in an engineering development environment.
Assist engineers in building simple prototypes, in bring up and troubleshooting during tests and designs validation.
Operate typical EE lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMM, Electronic load, ...
Able to build and test cable assemblies as well as simple mechanical assemblies.
Have a basic understanding of analog and digital circuits.
Able to understand schematics, use schematic and PCB layout viewers to locate components, extract BOMs (Bills Of Materials) for sourcing components for prototype builds.
Plan, organize and maintain the Lab facilities for optimal efficiency. Create new processes when necessary.
Manage multiple demanding deadlines. Be able to work across teams to get things done.
Have good communication and reporting skills.
Be familiar with Excel, Word

Minimum 5 years experience in similar Engineering lab environments with proven records of high-quality rework skill. Ability to complete tasks in time, to work independently with minimum supervision. Great sense of organization. Good written and verbal skills. Positive attitude. Entrepreneurial spirit with excellent time management skill. Familiar with Office tool suite (Excel spreadsheet and Word) and CAD tools (such as Allegro) for viewing schematics and PCB layouts.

Associates degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or relative work experience.
