The Challenge

Program managers lead the delivery of ground breaking software development and initiatives by working with a staff of highly passionate engineering, product management, marketing, and other specialists. You will partner with the product development and business team leaders to define and drive product development. Often, you will run multiple projects simultaneously. In this role you will strive to keep the team productive and organized by building and managing a realistic schedule; facilitating and fostering communication within and across teams; effectively managing risk and change; anticipating what might fall through the cracks; and doing whatever is required to ensure things run smoothly and productively.

What you'll do

  • Organize and oversee software development for product features and key initiatives - ensuring the right capabilities are designed and delivered on time and with the highest quality

  • Prioritizes complex workload, drive day-to-day progress of programs and keep different levels of management informed of project status and health

  • Handle issues and risks, create mitigation plans and escalate appropriately

  • Participate in technical problem-solving and quality decision-making, while balancing competing business needs.

  • Proactively identify the need and drive ongoing process improvements within the organization; create scalable solutions that are focused on continuous improvements

  • Be the agile coach for the teams

  • Build relationships both across the Stock team and with other Adobe teams, demonstrating strong emotional intelligence skills.

  • Constructively manage disagreements and different points of view.

What you need to succeed

  • Desire to be on a highly productive, fast-paced team.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years' experience as a program manager in software, SaaS and/or related industry

  • Proven experience managing complex projects to successful completion and track record of handling multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Customer focus and ability to use intuition, customer feedback and data to rapidly test and validate products and features.

  • Demonstrate a collaborative mindset

  • Self-motivated and not afraid to tackle unknowns, demonstrates a strong bias to action

  • Strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills with the ability to appropriately communicate with the intended audience

  • Ability to manage in an environment with diverse partners

  • Bring clarity to ambiguous situations

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
  • Experience utilizing Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies

Engineering Operations (EngOps) is responsible for cultivating the health, productivity, and impact of the engineering organization. In this role, you will be a founding EngOps team member, responsible for a mixture of zero-to-one and ongoing improvement programs and operations. You will use your deep analytical skills to surface insights and identify improvement areas, and you will leverage your ninja-level program management skills to design and drive new initiatives. As solutions take root, you will ensure that the resulting tools or process are operationalized, monitored, and adapted over time to meet the needs of the team and business. Your challenge will be to optimize the productivity and impact of a rapidly growing, global, multi-product engineering team supporting a business experiencing hypergrowth. This role requires excellent data and analytical skills, entrepreneurialism, and leadership. In this role, you will: * Measure and analyze key engineering operational metrics, including recruiting effectiveness, ramp-up efficiency, and developer productivity. * Use (or develop), manage, and adapt processes, tools, and programs that mitigate development inefficiencies such as gaps in documentation, infrastructure, and communication * Identify, prioritize, and solve productivity blockers through data analysis, engagement with the product development teams, thoughtful process design, and expert project and program management skills to drive solutions (tools, process, policy, operations) forward. * Measure expected and actual results for your programs; define and drive iterative improvements. * Create and drive forums that enhance R&D knowledge sharing and our collective intelligence * Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's cultural principles (Obsess Over the Customer, Build for the Long Term, Growth Mindset) as we scale globally and across new offices. An ideal candidate has: * B.S. or higher, preferably in a quantitative field (engineering, applied math, etc.) * 5+ years prior experience working within well-run engineering teams; familiar with software development processes, SaaS delivery models, IoT and SW/HW co-development, etc. Ideally worked on products with product market fit. * An understanding of the life of a software engineer; the tools and stacks but also the motivations and challenges. * Demonstrated leadership, creativity, and problem solving abilities and a desire to be a force-multiplier across a large engineering and product development organization * Excellent analytical skills, passion for data and a proficiency with data analysis and using tools for connecting, analyzing, and visualizing data * Strong written communication and presentation skills; strong negotiating skills and a practiced change management approach At Samsara, we welcome all.
