Sr. Engineering Manager Spacecraft Engineering
What you'll do:
Systems Engineering Consultation to all Ball Programs
Member of IRTs, FRBs, MRBs
Mentor/train Program Chief Engineers, SC Systems Engineers
Tactical support to programs (special events, emergencies)
Collaborate with Chief Architect and Business Development Lead to maintain BCP Road Maps
POC for Operations Support to non-contracted programs
Programs with defined operations support contracts will have their own dedicated POC who reports to the appropriate SBU the SCE Operations POC will take care of everyone who doesn't have an established contract and still needs support.
Maintain the in-case-of-emergency call list for all on-orbit programs
Have guideline/processes in place to respond to calls (communications list, holiday/vacation planning, etc.)
Lead the technical team on anomaly resolution
Identify and communicate reach-back and reach-across
Review Spacecraft proposals (Pink Team, Red Team, etc.)
Backup to Director (attend conflicting meetings, fill in during outages)
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Perform other duties as necessary.
What you'll need:
BS/BA in related field plus 15 years or more related experience.
Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
10+ years of Aerospace, Defense or Spacecraft related experience.
Strong writing and presentation skills.
Specific experience with Systems Engineering.
Work is performed in an office environment.
Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
Successful applicant for this position must be eligible to obtain a DoD clearance. A current DoD clearance is not required to be eligible for this position, however the successful applicant will be required to obtain a DoD clearance within a reasonable time after the offer is extended and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance. * US Citizenship is Required
