What you will do:

  • Leads a multi-discipline team responsible for the next generation Business Class Seating development

  • Interfaces with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate and make recommendations during program development, including conceptional product phase

  • Directs all phases of programs from inception through program maturity and transition to production engineering.

  • Oversees and coordinates the administrative and operational aspects of ongoing projects within program guidelines.

  • Manages risk and integration of new technologies with relevant stakeholders.

  • Liaises between project management and planning, project teams, and line management.

  • Monitors and assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.

  • Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Meets program schedules and budgets and maintains the integrated master schedules for project(s).

Qualifications you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years' experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required

  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor's degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws / regulations.

  • Prior research & development experience for similar products is a strong desire

  • Monitors project plans, schedules, and budgets for projects. Identifies, develops, and gathers necessary resources to ensure project completion.

  • Manages all aspects of an engineering project and programs.

  • Allocates resources, drives strategic planning, and assigns tasks to ensure business targets are met.

  • Directs the work of employees assigned on complex projects in technical manufacturing and administrative areas.

  • Conducts project meetings and prepares reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.

  • Sets priorities, allocates tasks, and supervises project staff to meet project targets, budgets, and milestones.

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

  • Regardless of your role type, collaboration and innovation are critical to our business and all employees will have access to digital tools so they can work with colleagues around the world - and access to Collins sites when their work requires in-person meetings.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
