SR Engineer Manufacturing Tools (3+ Years Experience)

Job Summary

Perform standard computer science and software validation tasks of creating automated manufacturing tests used in the assembly and testing of medical devices in a manufacturing environment. Select appropriate techniques to solve problems and make design recommendations under direction of supervisor. Assess results for application, validity and conformance to specifications. Utilize engineering tools to solve technical problems e.g., CAD design, FMEA, Finite Element Analysis, Process Modeling, Design of Experiments. Display a solid technical understanding of engineering principles and procedures (e.g. CAD and its application or scheduling a series of technical tasks utilizing software-based tools). Requires working in a team environment with cross-functional team members, such as manufacturing, quality, regulatory, and other R&D departments. This position reports to a Principal Engineer or above and has no supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute protocols for the evaluation of hardware changes to electro-mechanical devices.

• Analyze and propose design changes to assemblies and components for cost savings and quality improvements on hardware devices.

• Initiate, plan, and implement changes to hardware components.

• Utilize engineering principles, technical analysis, computational analysis, and problem-solving tools to resolve technical problems and quality issues.

• Support other departments with design fixture and other requests.

• Good understanding of GD&T.

• Capable of conducting a thorough tolerance stack up to ensure fits meet design intent.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science with 3-5 years of relevant experience in automated test fixtures.

• Experience in mechanical and electrical fixture using labview and other type of automated test software.

• Familiar with appropriate FDA QSR and ISO regulations: design controls, document controls, design verification and validation,

• Must possess a firm foundation in the basic principles of their respective engineering discipline.

• Able to manage projects, coordinate contractors, and direct the activities of a technician.
