Position/Purpose:
Client is looking for a PEGA Application Architect. Client is currently using PEGA 8.3.1, so the desired candidate will have experience working with version 7 and newer. The candidate should have experience supporting multiple environments (Development, QA, Pre-Production and Production). Client is currently using WAS (IBM WebSphere), however will be migrating to JBOSS in June/July 2018.

Skills Desired:
Experience installing/configuring/migration of the following components:
Min 7+ years experience on the PEGA Platform
Pega Platform (PRPC)
Pega Robotic Process Automation o Robotic Desktop Automation
Pega Mobile Client o Business Intelligence Exchange
Pega Web Mashup o Pega Extender for Salesforce
Pega Agile Studio Reinstall
Autonomic Event Services (AES)
Experience with the following aspects of system administration of PEGA running on Linux:
Deployment automation o Alerting and Reporting leveraging SMA and third party monitoring tools
Architecture and Application scaling of environments
Performance tuning o Scripting: Java, Puppet, JCL, Shell Script, SQL
Cache management, heap configuration, connection pooling, load balancing

Work Environment/Demands:
On-call rotational support within the team
Ability to work closely with development LSA and teams2pm

Job Summary This role is the top progression level position in the engineer series. Includes senior to technical expert engineers, able to perform difficult and complex work requiring thorough knowledge of the subject matter and significant experience within functional assignment area. Schedules and coordinates major segments of complex projects to meet cost and time objectives. Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. Devises new approaches to problems encountered and develops engineering criteria ensuring compliance with design criteria and standards. At higher levels of proficiency within this classification, incumbents are expected to provide technical expertise and/or team leadership as needed. May be required to apply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to major projects that have significant impact on programs in varied areas and related fields. May serve as a technical expert on engineering related legal and regulatory issues to outside entities. Specifically, this position will be responsible for managing various material specifications, equipment communications (i.e. cellular modems) and troubleshoot issues on reclosers, padmounted switchgear and line monitors/sensors (other materials may be assigned as needed). It will be necessary for this person to represent Dominion Energy - Distribution Reliability within the company and the industry. Effectively communicating material and technology changes throughout the organization will be necessary. The successful candidate will aid in keeping material requirements updated and will serve as a subject matter expert in Electric Distribution by providing technical guidance on complex matters. Perform other duties as needed. Dominion Energy can provide sponsorship for the successful candidate if needed. Primary Responsibilities: * Evaluate and select new equipment that supports the safe, reliable and cost effective operation of the electric distribution system. * Lead root cause analysis activities and provide technical expertise to vendors on material design, manufacturing and testing requirements. * Maintain effective relationships with vendors to ensure information on existing and new products/features are up-to-date and offer the best value. * Manage software and programming requirements for a variety of protective equipment and automation systems. * Perform communication integration on distribution controls which includes setup and testing. * Periodic coordination and communication will be necessary with other groups in leading technical efforts. * Conduct presentations and provide supporting documents to trainers/field personnel on new products as needed. * Respond to multiple emails and phone calls to help others resolve unique application issues. * Ensure the Material Reporting System SharePoint site is updated to track, analyze and communicate failed equipment. * Represent Dominion Energy by attending plant visits, material/product meetings, field meetings and various industry conferences. * Support restoration activities as needed. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience * 6-8+ years of electric utility, relevant manufacturing (i.e. protective equipment) and/or relevant communications experience. * Solid knowledge in the design and construction of electric distribution facilities. * Solid understanding or ability to learn various computer application skills including fault analysis software, relay test set software, communication protocol testing software, AutoCAD, and a variety of distribution control programming software packages. * Solid understanding of AC fundamentals and three-phase power systems. * Ability to develop engineering specifications, processes and procedures. This should be accomplished while using basic engineering judgment, evaluation, originality and/or ingenuity to achieve objectives. * Ability to think analytically and solve technical problems. * Ability to interpret technical literature such as national codes, industry guides/standards, regulations and policies. * Effective oral, interpersonal and written communication skills. * Great team player and works well with others. * Self-motivator who has the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, but is also comfortable with working independently to get things done. * Strong time management and organizational skills. * Ability to react promptly to urgent matters while ensuring planned work doesn't fall behind. * Experience with interpreting technical drawings (i.e. wiring diagrams, logic diagrams, outline drawings, one line diagrams) is a plus. * Basic knowledge of serial and Ethernet based applications as it pertains to device communications.
