The Sr. Endpoint Management Systems Engineer is responsible for deploying, managing, troubleshooting endpoint management solutions in a 24/7 hospital environment to automate software distribution, patch management, and configuration management in a remote manner. This involves developing, testing, and deploying innovative solutions to meet architectural and security requirements utilizing industry standard tools/methodologies such as Microsoft Endpoint Manager (SCCM/Intune), as well as a solid understanding of centralized configuration methods and tools including Active Directory (AD) integration, Group Policy Objects (GPO's), scripting and troubleshooting. Systems Engineers maintain the stability of the platform across production and non-production environments, design, code, engineer, debug, test, upgrade, and are accountable for software development lifecycle of toolsets used to manage the environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Packaging and deployment of operating system images and end user device software

  • Perform product analysis, quality assurance, user acceptance testing, troubleshooting and support

  • Coordinate with multiple teams and departments to implement, maintain, support and enhance the end user device experience, and work with Infrastructure teams to ensure a common user experience between end user devices and other third-party vendors, such as Citrix

  • Perform system administration and updates as required, including anti-virus updates, operating system, and software updates

  • Manage and administer systems such as Microsoft Endpoint Manager (System Center Configuration Manager and Microsoft EMS /Intune) and Active Directory environments

  • Research complex technical problems and identify, implement, document, and communicate technical fixes

  • Document, track, and monitor solutions for acceptance into the environment and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities as needed in both the physical and virtual desktop environments

  • Function as Tier-3 technical escalation point for large scale or complex end-user problems

  • Review Incident Reports to identify systemic end user device issues

  • Applies broad knowledge of domain to optimize choices in architecture, design, operation, and ongoing improvement of the systems engineering processes across the enterprise

  • Identifies initiatives that result in customer metric improvement and drives adoption across portfolio

  • Performs application maintenance including performance monitoring, error identification, and remediation

  • Drives code reuse and contribution strategy for span of control; minimizes redundant development

Required Qualification:

  • 10+ years of experience with endpoint management systems such as Microsoft Endpoint Manager (SCCM/Intune), Microsoft Configuration Manager, or other similar platforms

  • 8+ years of experience with development and administration of Active Directory (AD), Group Policy Objects (GPO's), scripting, and troubleshooting

  • Experience with SCCM and Intune to include device enrollment, policy management, application deployment, compliance enforcement, and conditional access

  • Experience with Active Directory Security Groups, OUs, DNS, and GPO management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ITIL, MCSE Certified, SCCM Certified, Microsoft Endpoint Manager Specialist Certified, Microsoft 365: Modern Desktop Administrator Certified

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
