Responsibilities

BASIC PURPOSE: Manage the creative development of communication via email channel, a key driver of visits to the website, lead generations, and bookings. Support key business objectives of driving demand and revenue growth, successfully launching new ships, strengthening loyalty and booked guest experience and developing brand interest, desire and relevancy. Ensure key email success metrics improvement.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the creative development of communication via email channel, including layout, format, image selection, pricing, and offer placement.

  • Responsible for calls to actions for all past guest and prospect emails for Acquisition Marketing, Onboard Marketing, and Partnership Marketing.

  • Promote ships through new product announcements, enhancements, and dry dock improvements. Generate awareness and interest in all Company destinations.

  • Provide support for all promotional activity, including National Promotions and tactical executions, based on business needs and direction from revenue management and marketing management.

  • Generate demand and enhance relationship-building for the consumer research department through outbound telemarketing email templates.

  • Increase pre-sell revenue via new communication stream for booked guests. Include segmented email versions, including first timers and high value guests.

  • Drive revenue through new Bank of America credit card acquisition email campaigns.

  • Support promotions, offers, and announcements of brand partners, including AARP, HSN, and Nickelodeon. Drive Company gift card sales and generate product awareness. Market cruise rewards purchase and redemption.

  • Bring expert creative direction and innovative marketing solutions, while delivering projects on time and within budget.

  • Work with business owners and external data agencies to create concepts that reflect the brand look, feel, and voice.

  • Ensure all emails are built, tested, and delivered according to the email marketing calendar. Implement email creative testing plan.

  • Create responsive and adaptive email templates for both desktop and mobile readability, developing interactive designs in fully functional HTML.

  • Prepare Photoshop files as required. Layering, slicing, and resizing images.

  • Build video inclusion into email communication where relevant.

  • Stay up to date on the latest email marketing trends, technologies, and best practices.

  • Preform other job-related functions as assigned.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or Design School degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design, Web Design and Development, Visual Communications or related field of study; or any equivalent combination of relevant background, skills and experience.

EXPERIENCE: 4 - 5 years of experience in email graphic design.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Superior grasp of visual design principles, information design, typography, color, imagery and iconography. Expert in HTML, email design, coding skills and the ability to troubleshoot rendering issues. Expert in Adobe Suite, Dreamweaver and Microsoft Office. Experience with CSS, specifically pertaining to standards for email and web. Familiarity working with an enterprise level ESP platform. Knowledge of mobile optimization principals. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication and project management skills. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan concepts by studying information and materials presented in the creative brief. Meet with art director and managers to collaborate on design and layout. Design and develop creative concepts for print, in a style and tone that conveys the Oceania Cruises' brand. Think creatively to produce new ideas and concepts in time and within budget. Create high-quality collateral pieces that include but are not limited to brochures, direct mails, flyers, menus, ads, posters, and displays. Present finalized ideas and concepts to creative director or account managers. Amend designs according to changes in brief, changes to information, and creative direction. Proof and prepare files to be sent to print. Supervise, train and coach production artists and external vendors to ensure work meets the highest creative standards. Contribute to internal department initiatives, including updating and creating processes, documentation, tools, etc. Keep abreast of emerging technologies in new media, particularly design programs such as Creative Suite. Work with outside vendors and printers to provide properly prepared art files per the vendor or printer's requirements. Perform other job related functions as assigned. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design and/or Advertising preferably from Design/Fine Art Institution or any equivalent combination of relevant background and work experience. EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years' experience in a corporate or agency creative department. Extensive brochure¬ and direct mail experience required. Cruise or travel industry preferred. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Must have strong design, typography and photo-retouching skills. Ability to process high volume work accurately and for extended periods. Ability to pay close attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks accurately. Strong understanding of corporate branding and brand guidelines. Must be extremely detail-oriented, well-organized and able to juggle numerous projects under tight deadlines. Ability to work independently and quickly. Ability to develop creativity from concept to final artwork including production and pre-press. Ability to interact and communicate clearly and confidently with internal clients to determine their visual communication needs. Must be a team player, self-motivated, and flexible. Must have good time management, customer service and problem-solving skills. Organizational skills sufficient to prioritize work and complete assignments accurately, under pressure of competing deadlines and with frequent interruptions. Advanced knowledge of digital imaging and illustration with current Adobe software. Expert working knowledge of Mac platform with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite required.
