MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES / COMPETENCIES

1.Maintain and repair production precision mills and lathe. Coordinate the repair of manufacturing equipment. This includes electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

2.Work with the engineering staff and outside vendors regarding equipment installation, upgrades, and repairs. able to read and interpret blue prints, do layout work, use precision measuring instruments, set up and operate machine shop equipment

3.Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.

4.Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment. Maintain an adequate supply of backup tooling, fixtures, components, etc. to keep the production equipment operational.

5.Assist engineering with the design and improvement of manufacturing processes, tooling and equipment

6.Design, fabricate, implement, and fully document equipment improvements and modifications as required.

7.Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media

8.Ensure Company safety policies and procedures are understood by employees and implemented consistently company-wide.

9.Available for "On Call" responsibilities; weekends and after hours

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.

EXPERIENCE

  • At least 7 years of electrical and mechanical repair/maintenance experience in manufacturing environment required.

  • Medical device, aerospace or electronics manufacturing background desirable.

  • Background in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment repair and maintenance.

  • Experience in safety-related duties with understanding of OSHA standards required.

  • Expertise in reading blue prints, equipment diagrams and schematics required.

SKILLS

  • Good Communication and organizational skills. Self-starter and works well with others.

  • Properly document request for services to allow efficient ongoing response to customer needs. This includes what the machine was doing, adjustments made, parts replaced, etc.

  • Communicate to supervisor and/or other shifts to assure continuity of ongoing projects and repairs.

  • Working knowledge of CMMS software

  • Strong industrial electronic background required (277/480), as well as CNC control aptitude.

Pay range is: $36 - $45 per hour - Final compensation/salary will depend on experience.
