Sr. Electronic Design Engineer
The Sr. Electrical Engineer position is responsible for high-volume manufacturing test systems, test and test system specifications, and test system commissioning and manufacturing training for Server & Storage-based products. The role includes working with design teams on DFM and DFT requirements, working with suppliers on ICT and Functional Test System Specifications and Development, and 2nd-level manufacturing technical support. This role includes design and development of test cards, adapters and test systems, including work with high-speed bus systems and FPGA/CPLD logic. You will work with product design teams for DFT and DFM design analysis. The Engineer will also provide engineering-level product support to Customers and the Operations team.
Nature of Duties:
Work with design teams to ensure DFM and DFT objectives are achieved, and develop the necessary manufacturing test assets to support the programs.
Work with the project management teams to ensure test assets and manufacturing training is available to schedule.
Work with manufacturing and engineering as 2nd-level manufacturing technical support
Provide Engineering-level Support for Customers and Operations for new and existing products
Onsite support to Customers, Suppliers or Manufacturing as needed
Board-level design for specialized test boards to support Engineering Validation Testing and high volume automated and semi-automated manufacturing tests.
Domestic and International Travel up to 20% of your time to support test system suppliers, manufacturing test system commissioning, NPI and 2nd level Engineering support
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering (BSEE)
12+ years of relevant test engineering and product test and development
Working knowledge of x86 server architecture, FPGA design, PCIe bus and general Server/Storage architectures
Working knowledge of high-speed signal design, signal integrity for PCB stack-up and routing reviews
Working knowledge of DFT, DFM and Cost optimization processes
Working knowledge of schematic capture and PCB layout review tools
Working knowledge of root-cause and corrective action processes
Working knowledge of bus analyzers, high-speed oscilloscopes, other circuit analysis tools and equipment.
Knowledge of Intel XDP / IDP, margin analysis and design analysis tools is a plus
