We have an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Electrical Engineer- VHDL to join the GA-ASI: Mission Systems division, sitting in San Diego, CA (Rancho Bernardo/Poway).
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate with limited oversight, will be responsible for applying innovative approaches to resolving unusual or complex engineering problems, balancing aggressive schedules and state of the art technology developments.
The candidate must have a background in digital signal processing, FPGA design, digital and analog design methodologies, and must be able to do system level design and analysis.
The candidate will work with a team to develop and implement various data processing and signal processing algorithms.
The candidate will be responsible for determining annual and multiyear technical objectives for designated engineering systems or project(s)/program(s).
The candidate must represent the assigned systems or projects(s)/program(s) as a prime technical expert.
He/she will direct and allocate technical resources and professional staff to achieve these objectives.
The candidate must be proficient with the following tools and skillsets:
MATLAB, Simulink, Xilinx Tool flow, ModelSim
VHDL implementation of signal processing algorithms
C programming experience
Ability to work with complex algorithms model and implement in VHDL
Hardware printed circuit board design, fabrication and test
Logic design/simulation/synthesis, timing-analysis, device-debug/characterization
Setup simulation environment and assist in test bench development
Writing behavior models for memories & analog blocks such as ADC, DAC, PLL
Signal integrity analysis and design
High speed design including DDR2/DDR3, LVDS and multi-gigabit serial interfaces
Hardware integration and test
Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; fifteen or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, thirteen or more years of experience with a masters degree, or ten or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
Demonstrates a detailed and extensive technical expertise and application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice as well as project and/or program leadership including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established project deadlines or milestones.
Must posses the ability to contribute to the development of new concepts and principles; resolve unusually complex technical problems; serve as spokesperson on projects and/or programs; and be a technical expert in one or more areas of engineering.
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required enabling an effective leadership interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
Must be able to obtain and maintain DOD Security Clearance. Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance is preferred. Must be U.S. Citizen.
