Senior Electrical Engineer

About the role:

The Senior Electrical Engineer an active participant within the Business Unit Complaint Investigation Site (CIS) and will be responsible for providing electrical and electronic engineering support and expertise in the investigation and analysis of returned devices. This role is responsible for managing the customer complaint failure analysis process for assigned product families, and will work closely with other engineers, including Design and Development engineers, to investigate product failure modes and determine root cause.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Analyzes, debugs, modifies, and tests electrical circuits and systems by using current tools, analysis techniques, and technologies.

  • Documents investigations, creates analysis documents, reports, memos, change requests. Methods used are determined by approved procedures and standards.

  • Acts as an effective leader or team member in supporting quality disciplines, decisions, and practices.

  • Solves engineering problems by analyzing the situation and recommending corrective or alternative actions.

  • Analyzes, evaluates, verifies, requirements, circuits, and systems by using engineering practices.

  • Identifies and implements effective product analysis protocols to support the improvement of product performance to meet or exceed internal and external requirements.

  • Investigates, researches, selects electronic circuits, components, tools, equipment and practices.

What we're looking for in you:

  • BS/BA in Electrical Engineering and/or Electronics Related discipline

  • 4-7 years in Engineering/Quality role

  • 1+ years in the medical device industry OR solid background in QSR and MDD Quality System requirements

  • Proficiency in MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)

  • This position is in an office environment, with interaction with laboratories, BSC plants and external suppliers.

  • Able to communicate at all organizational levels both within BSC and with outside companies.

  • Able to work well in a team environment with peer group.

  • Travel may be required 5-15%

The Analog & Power Systems Design Engineer will provide analog & power systems support to the Protected Communications Systems Product Line primarily for Satellite Communication Products. The analog & power systems support encompasses the design, development, evaluation, and test of power filters, power supplies, and power distribution systems for in-house ground based and spaceflight hardware programs. Insight will be provided for out-of-house designed power filters, power supplies, and power distribution systems. Required Skills * A minimum of 6 years applicable experience in analog and power circuit design and analysis. * Expert knowledge in one or more of the following Power System Architecture design, Analog CCA Design and Test, Digital CCA Design and Test System Integration, COTS Product Integration, Power Distribution. * Experience writing test procedures, conducting tests, and be proficient operating lab test equipment. * Specific emphasis and experience should be on direct current systems for ground based and aerospace applications. * Experience with EE design tools: Keysight ADS, Mentor Graphics Design Suite. * Effective communication skills, both oral and writing as well as thorough knowledge of all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint) * Broad based hardware engineering background. * Experience with EMI, EMP, HEMP(High-Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse) and Lightning Design and Test * Excellent Interpersonal and Multi-tasking Skills * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Experience with program cost and schedule monitoring and reporting. * Ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance Desired Skills: * 5+ years experience in Task Management or other Lead role on Large Development jobs. * Experience as an IPT or CPT Lead * EVMS Certified and professional exposure to EVMS or similar budget tracking system * Digital circuit card design experience * Existing security clearance Required Education: * Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent * Masters degree is preferred.
