Location: Goleta California Security Clearance:

Candidate will be responsible for general Research, development, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks.
Designs electrical equipment, test interfaces, STE (Special Test Equipment) and systems.
This position will work with cross functional team for developing electronic systems for emerging technologies.

Required Skills: Conduct research and prototyping activities to assess the feasibility of new product designs and the ability to meet requirements Participate in product design and development reviews and product phase reviews.
Complete all action items as directed Provide input for project schedules.
Ensure assigned tasks are completed per project schedule Ensure that electrical designs are successfully transferred to manufacturing by closely communicating with the manufacturing group Document the electrical design with released drawings and specifications, including component specifications Develop manufacturing procedures, fixtures and test systems, ensuring suitability for production transfer PCB / cable interfaces layout design tools Demonstrated ability to systematically troubleshoot and debug complex problems Experience as a key player developing hardware on a development team Ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects, highly self-directed Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills U.S.

Skills:
Experience designing complex electrical systems from concept through to production Knowledge of appropriate practices for successful design of mixed signal printed circuit board designs including signal integrity, grounding and power distribution Aptitude for electronics system architecture.
Strong circuit and system level design capability Experience designing electronics at the circuit board level FPGA design and/or microcontroller based design Analog/mixed signal design AC/DC power supply design Motor control drivers and feedback systems (hardware side, FPGA) Image processing, video processing Xilinx FPGA families PCB / cable interfaces layout design tools Experience with GD&T Six Sigma / process improvement experience The ideal candidate will have minimum of 10 years work experience in a position requiring customer support, attention to detail and compliance with verbal and written direction from management Required Education: BS Electrical Engineering This position requires a U.S.

This Position is located in Goleta California. A successful candidate should have demonstrable expertise in RF / Microwave Design and Development. This group designs RF and Microwave electronic hardware such as frequency references, frequency synthesizers, upconverters, downconverters, low noise amplifiers, and solid state power amplifiers for EW applications. Efforts include developing circuits using microstrip/stripline and performing circuit simulations and validation of design models using the Keysight Advance Design System (ADS) and Computer Simulation Technology (CST). Our designs satisfy rigorous requirements of DoD programs. The position will also performs technical & cost trade studies, and product selection for commercially available components. All designs incorporate Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) techniques including simulation and prototyping necessary to validate the simulations and to develop statistical margins. Candidates will be expected to provide recommendations and solutions to a variety of technical problems of appropriate scope and complexity, working independently or in small groups. Successful candidates should expect to be immersed in a fast-paced, team-based, and challenging technical environment where an individual with talent and initiative can stand out and thrive. The candidate will work in a multi-disciplinary team environment to develop, simulate, document, support, debug, and test various types of RF/Microwave circuit level / board level designs. Required Skills: * Minimum of 4 years of experience in Electrical Engineering RF / Microwave design & development. * Must have experience with RF/Microwave building blocks: Antennas, Amplifier, Attenuator, Directional Coupler, Frequency Mixer, Lowpass/Bandpass/Highpass Filter, Oscillator, Power Divider, RF Switch, Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO), Voltage Reference, Voltage Variable Attenuator. * Must have a detailed understanding of the following RF/Microwave concepts & terminology: dB, dBc, dBi, dBm, Bandwidth, G/T, Gain, Gain Flatness, Isolation, Noise Figure, Phase Noise, Return Loss, Spurious, and VSWR. * Must have experience using RF/Microwave test equipment such as a Network Analyzer with calibrations kits, Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator, RF Power Meter, Oscilloscope * Current experience with design tools such as ADS, CTS, HFSS, FEKO, Matlab, PSpice, AWR Microwave Office, Sonnet, Schematic/Layout tools * Advocate for process improvement (e.g. CMMI and Six Sigma); experience building strong relationships and effectively partnering with internal resources; customer focused * Strong oral and written communication skills * Occasional domestic travel may be required * Must have an existing DoD Secret Clearance * U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
