Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Missile Systems is seeking an engineering professional to work with a variety of programs as a contributor to detailed design, simulation, product development, and initial product testing.

The RF Products & Technologies Department is currently searching for Electrical Engineers who have experience designing RF and Microwave hardware, including transmitters, receivers, and exciters.

Please note: This position can be a Sr. Electrical Engineer I or Sr. Electrical Engineer II based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience, and responsibility requirements for the position

The ideal candidate will have knowledge in at least one of the following areas:

  • Design and development of transmitters, receivers or exciters.

  • Experience designing and optimizing RF circuits.

Required Skills:

  • U.S Citizenship required.

  • Strong experience with all aspects of RF design.

  • A minimum of (4) years of relevant experience.

  • Experience in test and measurement of RF products.

  • Experience with any of the following tools: Mentor DX Designer, High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS), SystemVue, Genesys, and Advanced Design System (ADS).

Required Education (including Major):

  • Minimum of 4 years applicable experience with a B.S. in Engineering. M.S. Preferred

Desired Skills:

  • Strong technical and interpersonal skills with desire to support enterprise initiatives.

  • Ability to prepare documentation with minimal oversight.

  • Candidate will have solid communication and teaming skills.

  • Background in designing for manufacturability, producibility, and cost constraints.

  • Strong problem solving skills with ability to proactively identify alternate solutions to overcome difficult technical challenges.

With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. The Product Engineering Department is a design-focused group of engineers specializing in advanced hardware systems. The individual selected for this position will be a design engineer with RF engineering skills. The individual must be a self-starter with experience working with inter-disciplinary teams to solve challenging technical problems. The engineer will work closely with hardware integrated into a diverse range of aerospace and military systems including manned/unmanned ground/air vehicles, missiles, defensive radars, and space systems. The RF Hardware Design Engineer will be expected to execute in a fast-paced, small team environment through all phases of the hardware life cycle from conceptual development and detailed design through manufacturing, qualification testing, and post-delivery support. The RF Engineer is also expected to actively partner with other engineers, project managers, technicians and the customer to develop solutions that adhere to a diverse set of requirements. Additionally, the engineer will support resolution of technical issues that are discovered during the manufacture and test of deliverable hardware. This will include troubleshooting board-level issues, assessing failures for root cause, and identifying corrective actions. The RF Hardware Design Engineer should be familiar with the design of power amplifiers, low noise amplifiers, mixers, filters, signal synthesis, PIN diode switching, and analog-to-digital conversion and how to implement these hardware features in complex Radar, EA, and communications systems across several high frequency bands (L-band, S-band, C-band, X-band, Ku-band, Ka-band). Specific R&D interests in low phase noise, miniature high power PA design, and high bandwidth operation for advanced radar and EA developments is a plus. The candidate should be able to understand and model the theoretical operation of these systems and balance tradeoffs of multiple characteristics to reach an optimal design. The candidate should also be familiar with RF PCB design and packaging practices to fully support the solutions that Dynetics is developing. IND2 Basic Qualifications Candidate must possess a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university. Candidate must have at least five (5) years of experience in RF hardware design. Candidate must demonstrate an understanding of radar and communications principles. Candidate must have hands-on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and debug/test methods including use of network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, etc. Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams. Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment. Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area. Other Qualifications Preference will be shown to candidates who possess a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.
