Group/Division

The Global Service Support Organization (GSS) team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The GSS organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.

KLA is ramping its fastest-growing new research & development center in Ann Arbor, MI, and we're hiring the best talent! The Ann Arbor team is developing product equipment, test centers, and the software and AI algorithms that power the cutting-edge capabilities that KLA is recognized for.

Responsibilities for this exciting role will include:

  • Design FPGA based high speed PCB, including circuit design, schematic capture, simulation and layout review

  • FPGA design and sustaining support, work with FPGA engineer to design test validation fixtures, functional and/or post layout simulations, timing analysis, FPGA functionality verification and validation

  • Understand and capture the project specifications and performance requirements at board and system level.

  • Manage project timelines, budget and deliverables.

  • Write technical documentation that meets defined quality standards for manufacturing and service team as required.

Qualifications/Education Desired

5-7 year experience with FPGA and board level design including design, development and integration of complex boards and subsystems (including PCBs, Cables, System interconnect)

  • Solid knowledge of electrical design principles, mixed signal design at theoretical and practical implementation level

  • Experience with FPGA (Xilinx UltraScale or Intel Aria 10) development with proficiency using simulation tools.

  • Knowledge of using complex FPGA IPs such as embedded processors (ARM/MicroBlaze), Ethernet MAC and DDR memory controller is a plus.

  • Knowledge of camera and image acquisition including communication interface is a plus

  • Hands on experience with lab equipment like logic analyzer, oscilloscope, etc.

  • Team player with excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Strong technical project management skills

  • Self-motivated and good leadership skills

  • MSEE is highly preferred

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Level Degree with at least 4 years of experience or

  • Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 6 years of experience.

Group/Division With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. Central Engineering is KLA's largest engineering organization comprised of 9 Centers-of-Excellence (CoE) in various disciplines applied across all product groups in the company. These CoE include Handling & Automation, Precision Motion Control, Sensors & Image Acquisition, Platform Design, and Packaging Engineering, among others. Talent includes over 500 engineers across global centers in Israel, China, India, and the US. Each CoE contributes not just talent and deliverables per discipline toward product programs, but also subject matter expertise, best practices, roadmaps, specialized facilities, apparatus, models, and analytics. These differentiate KLA not only in WHAT we do, but also in HOW we do it. In this role successful candidates will be responsible for: * Design mechanical and optomechanical parts and subsystems for advanced image sensor calibration systems. * Drive and be responsible for the complete design process, including requirements, concept, design, testing, BOM structure, and scheduling. * Perform calculations and computer simulations to verify functionality of parts and mechanism. * Work cross-functionally and drive implementation of design best practices into product design that meets the requirements and specifications, SEMI standards, as well as adhering to manufacturability and cost targets. * Conduct various analysis, such as thermal, vibration and FEA modeling, conceptual and detailed design using Creo/Parametric (Pro/E), detailed drawings, design review presentations, procurement of prototype parts, system integration, prototype testing, and handoff to manufacturing. * Work with other engineering groups such as Systems Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers to ensure flawless integration and subsystem tests. * Develop required supporting documentation, such as assembly and test procedures.
