Quanex is looking for a Sr. EHS Engineer to join our team!! The successful candidate could be located in Kent, WA or Winnebago, IL as the position will have responsibilities for both locations.
The Sr. EHS Engineer will be responsible for supporting environmental and health safety programs, policies, and procedures for assigned region or plant. In this role, the successful candidate will be a leader that promotes safety as a core value and partners with internal teams to drive continuous improvement of environmental, safety and health systems.

Serve as an auditor on the Quanex EHS Corporate Audit Team.
What Success Looks Like:
Coordinate regular plant safety, environmental and housekeeping audits. Perform audits, identify hazards and issue reports to appropriate managers.
Facilitate training for employees, such as new hire orientation, lift truck, right to know and other safety, environmental and loss prevention related topics.
Review and assist plants with review of accident/incident reports and determination of root cause. Works with plant leadership to implement action plan following root cause analysis.
Understands and ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to environmental protection or occupational health and safety.
Reviews monthly and annual safety statistics and identifies trends that need a correction.
Assist plant personnel in renewing and revising environmental permits as needed for those plants in their region.
Offers support in collaboration with plant leadership on safety committee recommendations & audits; may assist with the closure of identified issues through the plant management team.
In collaboration with broader EHS team, creates EHS policies and supports cross-functional teams with policy implementation.
Develop and deploy standard safe work practices and procedures as appropriate.
Ability to travel monthly.
Your Credentials:
BS/BA in Occupational Health and Safety, industrial hygiene, Industrial engineering or related discipline.
4 years minimum experience in a safety, environmental or combined role.
Manufacturing experience preferred.
The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $115,000 with the potential to earn an annual bonus at 18% of your base salary. The expansive salary range for this position is attributed to the company's compensation philosophy of applying geographic pay differential.
