What you'll do

As a Sr. Director, you are responsible for sales activities for Principal Funds Distribution throughout your territory. You will partner closely with your Internal Wholesaler within the territory for collective success. Accountable for achieving sales targets and broker dealer relationships within all channels - wirehouses, independent firms, and registered investment advisors (RIA's) covering our Exchange Traded Funds (ETF's), Managed Accounts and Mutual Funds.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, recommend and execute sales plans, activity reports and rotation schedules.

  • May provide input on marketing, product development, shareholder/broker communications and integration of campaigns with broker/dealers and fund wholesaling teams.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.

  • 2+ years of sales experience required.

  • 5+ years of industry experience is preferred.

  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 required.

  • Excellent knowledge of investment products and financial markets required.

  • Strong listening and consultative skills, advisor management expertise, and analytical analysis are required.

  • Must have strong presentation, oral and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

  • Travel required, including overnight stays.

  • Advanced designations preferred (e.g., CFP, CFA, CIMA, CAIA).

Purpose: The CDP/Finance Manager ensures that the dealership meets its unit sales quotas and its gross objectives on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis. They are also responsible for producing additional revenue for the dealership by selling finance and insurance products to customers. This position is designed to develop a quality associate within the Sonic Automotive company through "in-store" training. The program is designed to prepare an associate for a full-time Finance Manager position within one of our local dealerships. Duties and Responsibilities: * Determine monthly and yearly forecasts in terms of unit sales, gross profit objectives, and departmental profits * Sell financing and other finance and insurance products to customers * Sell Extended Warranties and all other aftermarket items * Establish and maintain good working relationships with several finance sources, factory and otherwise * Submit paperwork to and obtain approval from finance sources on all finance deals * Meet with each salesperson as early as possible every day to review yesterday's results and today's plan of action * Conduct sales meetings * Provide on the job training for salespeople * Handle all rate quotations and financing questions * Check all paperwork for correct title, lien information, taxes, etc. Establish and meet monthly objectives * The F&I Manager has a responsibility to log in sales income. Verify insurance with customers agents, obtain deposits, verify trade payoffs * Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor * After the training period has ended, the CDP will move amongst several dealerships in order to accommodate scheduling. * The CDP is a full-time position. However, the position is not permanent and will last anywhere from 3 to 12 months. The length of time is dependent both on performance and availability of an open F&I position.
