Role Position: Senior Director, Supply Chain, Drug Substance Division (DSD)

Reports To: Vice President, Pharma Services Global Procurement and Drug Substance Division Supply Chain

Location: Plainville, MA or St Louis, MI

ROLE SUMMARY

The Senior Director, Supply Chain position is part of our Drug Substance Division (DSD). This role will develop and drive the supply chain strategy and critical initiatives to improve the ability to meet customer demand, while creating an effective and efficient end-to-end supply chain that exceed market expectations, ensuring strong execution from all business units in DSD division and efficiently managing costs and drive productivity. The role will lead the supply chain function across all business units under DSD globally, drive connectivity between the commercial and operation teams to provide excellent service to our customers. You will collaborate and help develop targeted improvement plans for product availability, working capital optimization and productivity improvement and will lead the Sales and Inventory Planning Process. You will be accountable for annual improvements in the company's Product availability (LIFR/OTIF), Customer Allegiance Score (CAS) for Order Fulfillment and inventory days of supply (DOS).

The primary objective for this position is to achieve an overall competitive advantage for DSD through market leading supply chain performance. This includes supply chain processes standardization and simplification to drive best-in-class practices across all DSD business units to optimize resources and effectiveness and to ensure accuracy of information and reporting. This leader must also create a culture of providing best-in-class supply chain capabilities while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with businesses to develop and implement business plans. Act as a leader with vision by providing analytical insights and perspectives.

  • Identify and confirm the success metrics, frequency and cadence by which to measure and enable the transformation.

  • Establish a clear and accountable planning process, such as short-range forecasting and demand planning, pipeline reviews and other requisite check points to ensure business exceeds objectives.

  • Improve processes within the end to end supply chain, using new concepts and technologies, to further drive improvements and make supply chains ready for the future.

  • Build SIOP capability for the Group and ensure competence throughout the organization. Define metrics of success for SIOP, working closely with commercial and operations leaders.

  • Ensure supply chain process improvements and critical initiatives aimed at improving service, cost, working capital and overall operating efficiencies are sustainable.

  • Implement metrics that provide Supply Chain performance monitoring and ensure we are receiving optimal return on investments.

  • Be a key influencer to key leaders to significantly impact our supply chain strategy, execution and/or decision-making.

  • Attract and empower the right talent and build impactful global teams.

How will you get here?

Education

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics or a related area or equivalent; MBA preferred.

Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of work experience in the areas of Supply Chain Management or Operations.

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in leading and managing teams with a focus on mentoring, coaching and performance management

  • High level of proficiency with core Demand and Supply Planning, Warehousing, Materials Management skills

  • Strong influencing skills with ability to see issues from multiple viewpoints and understand differing needs of colleagues

  • Significant business insights and demonstrated success in team building skills

  • Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to respond to changes in the external environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to confidently present complex information

  • Results oriented, metrics driven leader with a root cause, permanent fix approach, continuous improvement approach

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Demonstrated success in providing strategic and results-focused change leadership as the manufacturing operations or Supply Chain leader of a complex, global manufacturing company or large division.

  • Progressively responsible career path in manufacturing operations and supply chain with significant practical experience in international settings

  • Possess a thorough business understanding from demand creation through supply fulfillment.

  • Demonstrated success in identifying and implementing best-in-class business practices, including supply chain improvement within a substantial business.

  • Possess strong financial savviness and commercial business knowledge and orientation.

  • Strong analytical skills and process focus

  • Experience leading matrix global teams across businesses and cultural boundaries.

  • Able to communicate effectively and empower global constituents to meet business objectives, and possesses strong presentation skills at all levels of the organization

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal skills, and unquestioned integrity and trust
