WWF helps transform both markets and policies to reduce the strain caused by commodity production and consumption and ensure the value of nature is reflected among community, government, and business decision makers.

WWF's work attracts passionate high-net-worth donors, and the development team establishes close working relationships with these highly energized individuals. The organization seeks a highly-motivated relationship builder to serve as Senior Director of Philanthropy, a key role on this team.

Responsibilities

The Senior Director will develop, implement, and replicate best practices in relationship-based donor management, working both individually and with leaders, program staff, and the development team, and remaining in front of donors as much as possible, to develop positive and deep relationships.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role will be a passionate, curious, and self-motivated professional who will work enthusiastically and collaboratively to seize opportunities. The Senior Director will have:

  • At least 12 years of experience in non-profit development with a focus on significant gifts; at least some experience in a large, complex organizational setting (e.g., international advocacy, think tank, university, etc.).

  • Ability to serve as a key member of the principal giving team with individual responsibility for securing $5 to $10M in new revenue annually.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and best practices of non-profit major/ principal gifts development (or a closely related relationship management process).

  • Track record of developing and implementing fundraising goals and strategies for donors rated at the $500K level and above.

  • Ability to succeed within a consensus-building culture: strong work ethic, collaboration, and strong written and verbal skills are essential at WWF.

  • Strong commitment to WWF's mission, goals, and values.

About the position To support and help ensure the success of the APIE, the Institute seeks a newly created Director of Strategic Communications. This person will be embedded in both the APIE and the Aspen Institute Communications and Marketing teams. This role exists to help APIE and Institute leaders craft compelling communications strategies that help the Initiative reach its goals, and to support the communications and marketing efforts of the policy programs that fall within the area of Economic Prosperity and Inclusion. This position reports to the EVP of Communications and Marketing, and is accountable to the co-chairs of the Aspen Partnership on an Inclusive Economy. This position works closely with all members of the Communications team, colleagues in Policy Programs across the organization, and particularly in the areas of Economic Prosperity and Inclusion, and with our funding partners and consultants. Key Responsibilities * Serve as day-to-day point person for all APIE communications. Coordinate work and information flow across multiple groups within the Aspen Institute Communications and Marketing team, APIE, corporate funders, consultants and policy programs within the Economic Prosperity and Inclusion Group. Develop communications plans, calendars, and materials to ensure day-to-day coordination and organization among several groups of internal stakeholders. * Develop materials in support of APIE communications efforts including messaging, fact sheets, releases, digital content, and briefings. Draw upon expertise and resources of Communications/Marketing team. * Serve as lead for all APIE-related events, running interference and managing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and myriad logistical details. Leverage and coordinate the support of Aspen Institute communications resources (digital, press, print) and coordinate with corporate partners and consultants in support of the success of these efforts. * Work with Comms and Marketing team colleagues to ensure resources are deployed in an effective, strategic and efficient way in support of the goals of APIE and the programs primarily focused on areas of economic inclusion. * Serve as Communications and Marketing team point of contact for all programs within the Economic Prosperity and Inclusion group.
