Sr Director, Risk Management

As a Senior Director of Risk Management, you will direct the risk management functions of the organization and oversee all functions of the claims process for 2 service lines located in the US and Canada. This position will also focus on carrier retention and process improvement.

Schedule: Monday-Friday (8am -5pm)

Pay: Based on Experience

Must be willing and able to travel to different ACERTUS office/hub locations from time to time.

What will you be doing?

• Oversees the work of a team responsible for risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.

• Establishes acceptable risk tolerances for business units, products or product lines, or programs.

• Quantifies potential risks and seeks to limit liability or exposure through the implementation of risk reduction strategies or by insuring the organization against loss.

• Implements loss prevention strategies meant to protect the organization's assets.

• Ensures compliance with safety requirements or risk-related legislation.

• Coordinates investigations into accidents or other losses and represents the company to counsel or during legal proceedings.

• Coordinates between corporate attorneys and insurance companies

• Implements strategies to improve carrier retention.

• Process Improvement.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of experience, including prior risk management experience.

• Previous experience in the automotive, rail or logistics field preferred.

• Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination.

• Contributes to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior management.

• Establishes departmental policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.

• Has extensive experience with the concepts and principles of one or more related fields or departments.

• Ability to foster teamwork and mentor others.

• Problem management and decision-making skills.

• Excellent Oral and written communication skills.
