JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Director of Resource Development Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functions that support the operations of the resource development department currently responsible for raising $19M+ annually. This role includes being the Product Owner of Salesforce NPSP and managing all fundraising analytics and systems associated with fundraising. The ideal candidate should be a strategic thinker who looks for efficiency and drives improvements for the fundraising team through data-driven insights, while taking ownership over the completeness and accuracy of the system data. These insights and support from Development Operations play a critical role in enabling BGCMA to raise the funds needed to serve more kids, more often, with greater impact in accordance with our strategic plan goals.

In this role, the Senior Director will develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure increased performance and efficiency in securing financial resources for the organization. They will be responsible for training and onboarding new employees as it relates to resource development. This position manages a Resource Development Operations Manager and together this team is responsible for all gift entry, acknowledgement letters and other stewardship deliverables, and monthly financial reports. This role leads monthly pipeline review meetings and assists with forecasting, modeling, cash flow analysis, and budgeting.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Salesforce NPSP and experience in managing fundraising reporting and systems. They will possess a thorough understanding of accounting best practices, including proficiency in account coding, which is essential for maintaining the integrity of our financial systems and ensuring that funds are allocated and reported correctly. They should also have excellent attention to detail and analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive decision-making and improve processes. A passion for the BGCMA mission and strong collaboration skills are necessary.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technology

  • Serves as the Product Owner of Salesforce NPSP to improve efficiencies and is responsible for ongoing Salesforce NPSP improvements

  • Responsible for evaluating and implementing or optimizing new tools & technology in collaboration with IT to support and grow fundraising activities and ensure they are being fully maximized. This includes CRM, prospect research, payment processing, online fundraising platforms, event and auction management, relationship mapping, etc.

  • Manage Resource Development technology vendor relationships

  • Provide user training & support to the Resource Development team current staff and new hires

Analytics & Reporting

  • Analyze donor data and track progress monthly, produce monthly revenue and pipeline reports for the fundraising team, senior leadership team, Resource Development Committee, and Board of Directors.

  • Develop or improve upon various ad hoc reports for stewardship, audit, regulatory, or tax purposes

  • Responsible for analyzing donor data to identify trends and inform fundraising strategies

  • Develop and implement a robust cash projection reporting and collection process to improve cash flow

  • Does this role manage pledge balance reporting and collection with the fundraisers?

Administrative

  • Develop and maintain a resource development operations standard operating procedure (SOP) manual

  • Oversee and support all gift entry, acknowledgement letters, and daily incoming gift emails including responsibility for account coding fidelity

  • Develop and implement internal policies and procedures as needed

  • Responsible for training and onboarding new employees within the department and organization-wide on Resource Development processes, procedures, best practices, and technology

  • Lead monthly gift review meetings with Finance. Reconcile monthly revenue figures with Finance and communicate gift changes and pledge write-offs in a timely manner.

  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree required

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of related experience in a Resource Development function

  • Salesforce or equivalent system experience required with NPSP experience strongly preferred

  • Proven experience working with various software or applications to support and grow fundraising activities

  • Proven experience analyzing donor data and fundraising strategies and trends.

Skills

  • Expertise in Salesforce with NPSP preferred to manage fundraising analytics and systems, ensuring effective use of the platform for resource development activities

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, including account coding, to maintain financial integrity and support revenue forecasting

  • Proficient in Office Suite tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook for efficient document creation, data analysis, presentations, and communication

  • Intermediate level Excel is preferred

Skills

  • Strong administration skills and software systems knowledge; should also have experience leading project teams and cross-department projects.

Talent

  • A positive attitude and an entrepreneurial spirit, ability to manage multiple tasks and flexibility with demanding workloads

  • Attention to detail with a love of data and numbers

  • Passionate about youth development for underserved communities and/or addressing social injustice a significant plus

ENVIRONMENT & WORKING CONDITIONS:

Normal internal office environment with occasional need to travel to club locations within the Metro Atlanta area. Frequent internal contacts with employees throughout organization required.
