The Senior Director, Regional Operations successfully leads the overall operation of retail stores in the Canyon Region. You are responsible for achieving maximum profitability by ensuring stores are focused on operational excellence and Maverik standards. This region currently includes stores in Utah and Nevada and will reside in or near Salt Lake Valley, Utah. Senior Directors at Maverik are accomplished people leaders and excellent communicators. What You'll do as a Sr Director, Regional Operations:

  • Actively pursue and maintain ultimate accountability for regional sales and profit goals down to the district and store level and ensures that the objectives are met

  • Support development of and implement company initiatives, business plans and budgets in collaboration with the Vice President

  • Ensure strategies, processes and procedures are followed, driving consistency across the entire retail footprint to support the company's desire to be a great operator for our customers

  • Support and emphasize incentives and rewards that drive sales and create a legendary customer experience to support the company's desire to be a great place to work

  • Direct the District Manager in developing and implementing best practices, measuring operational efficiencies, continuously improving productivity and achieving operational standards of excellence

  • Execute on succession planning, workforce planning and professional development initiatives across the region

  • Instill a culture of accountability for P&L management, improving the customer experience and driving a culture of coaching, engagement and teamwork

  • Ensure compliance with all government regulations as they apply to the Company's retail units

  • Satisfactory driving record and up to 90% overnight travel required

  • Relocation required if not currently residing in or near Salt Lake Valley

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

You'll be a Great Fit if You Have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience required; an MS or MBA is highly desirable

  • 7-10 years of retail management experience in positions of increasing responsibility with a recognized and reputable multi-site retail organization(s) demonstrating best-in-class practices and strategies

  • Demonstrated track record in developing, implementing and evaluating short and long-term plans that address business challenges and opportunities

  • Strong operations background in a customer- centric environment with a proven track record of achieving solid financial results and customer service excellence

  • Command of the following skill areas: strategic thought leadership; P&L management and budget development; achieving financial results; analysis and problem-solving; and influencing for success

  • Worked with others to achieve shared goals while taking responsibility for individual actions to achieve consistent results

  • Decision making skills, with ability to investigate and weigh alternatives and select appropriate course of action, driving activity to measurable results

  • Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization
