SUMMARY

Responsible for all aspects of the operations at multiple locations within a specific market to obtain efficiency and maximize profits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Reviews and ensures implementation of meaningful action plans that accomplish strategic and business objectives, quarterly with direct reports

  • Implements organization policies and goals for operational efficiency

  • Reviews activities in each location such as operations, finance, customer service, planning, and sales to ensure effective operational efficiency and financial objectives

  • Directs and coordinates promotion of services performed to develop new markets, increase share of market, and obtain competitive position in industry

  • Directs preparation of directives to division or department administrator outlining policy, program, or operation changes to be implemented

  • Monitors gross margins for markets. Develops and implements specific plans to improve gross margins compatible with operation goals

  • Monitors quality goals and continuous improvement plans across markets, establishing and sharing best practices across markets

  • Reviews annual budget for multiple Operations and ensures management to monthly budget

  • Ability to effectively start-up new sites, including evaluating potential clients.

  • Identifies solutions, establishes metrics, processes, and procedures, while training managers, and establishing a rapport with clients.

  • Develops, implements, and executes a business strategy, which focuses on customers, growth, flawless execution, and profits within operations.

  • Establishes that safety is the number one priority for all personnel, above all other goals and objectives

  • Mentors management teams to have the right people, in the right jobs and focus attention on achieving the corporate vision and goals of the company.

  • Ensures facility compliance with governmental or other regulatory laws and guidelines including but not limited to OSHA, EPA and DOT

  • Approves planned annualized equipment, vehicle, and staffing needs for budgetary purposes.

  • Reviews and reports on key performance measurements and ensures process improvement strategies are identified and incorporated

  • Develops business continuity plan for appropriate market

QUALIFICATONS

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Business, Engineering, or related discipline required. Master's Degree preferred. Must possess a minimum of 8 years of experience in transportation, logistics, final mile or supply-chain related field. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Minimum of 3 years in a Senior Management or Director level role. Must have previous experience overseeing multi-site operations. Lean/ Six Sigma certification or experience preferred. Experience independently owning a P&L required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of WMS and labor tracking systems (HighJump or Korber One) required. Ability to manage time effectively and consistently meet deadlines. Ability to adapt and manage effectively in a fast paced, changing environment. Demonstrates financial understanding and the implications of financial decisions. Ability to deal with all types of contracts using effective diplomacy and interpersonal skills. Strong planning and organizational skills. Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate flexibility and patience. Ability to express ideas clearly (verbal and written) to individuals and in group situations. Excellent communication, decision making, and problem-solving skills. Superior communications, presentation and analytical skills. Ability to work under minimal supervision and with a strong sense of self-motivation.

Travel:

Travel within a regional area to maintain oversight of numerous facilities up to 30% of the time.
