What You'll Do

The Senior Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) will be a key asset in the future growth of the company. The Senior Director will lead the Company's annual budgeting process, quarterly forecasts, operating plan, variance analysis and special projects. S/he will provide financial consulting and strategic support to senior management including preparing board presentations, financial presentations, industry/peer group comparisons, new business initiatives, acquisition analyses and other ad-hoc projects. This function acts as the analytical engine of the company to provide insights to support optimal business decision making.

This position will work closely with the other members of the FP&A team, CFO, and senior management.


  • Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, and expenses;

  • Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing variances;

  • Oversee and manage the continued development of Budgeting, Financial Forecasting, Operating Plan, Modeling tools, and Dashboards;

  • Provide ad hoc analysis as requested by management;

  • Improve performance by evaluating processes to drive efficiencies and understand ROI in departmental programs and operations;

  • Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives;

  • Analyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes;

  • Support Senior Mgmt. and Dept. heads with in-depth analyses;

  • Participate in M&A activities and acquisition integration; and,

  • Prepare presentations to Board of Directors and Senior Management Team.

Skills and Experience:

  • ~10 years of progressive financial analyst experience in a commercial B2B environment; at least 5 in SaaS;

  • Ability to interpret, understand and manipulate complex data;

  • Extensive experience in developing budgets, tracking to actual in high growth businesses at all company levels, i.e. divisional/global/departmental;

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to interact and influence at all levels;

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Adaptive Planning (preferred) and PowerPoint skills;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

  • Ability to prioritize and deliver within short/tight deadlines and with high precision;

  • Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated; and,

  • Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity

  • MBA preferred

VIEW JOBS 10/25/2020 12:00:00 AM 2021-01-23T00:00 The Financial Planning and Analysis Senior Group Manager is a senior management level position responsible for providing management with an analysis and insight of Citi's financial results in coordination with the broader Finance team. The overall objective is to manage professional team(s)/department(s) and apply analytical thinking/knowledge of data analysis methodologies to create and analyze reports that gauge Citi's alignment with forecasted performance. Responsibilities: * Manage forward looking processes including forecasts, strategic/operating plans, monthly outlooks, and review results against plans monthly * Lead a team in conducting month-end close processes including the consolidation of flash estimates, monitoring general ledger bookings, and creating detailed variance analysis and commentary for senior management * Lead balance sheet management with frequent reviews of internally developed software assets and serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on topics of internally developed software * Participate in quarterly review of balance sheet trends and strategic forecasts with technology managers and chiefs of staff as well as perform analysis of financial performance of Citi and its competitors * Generate analytics for quarter end flash results, related highlights, board of directors reports, and executive management reports as well as contribute to quarterly competitor reviews, quarterly annotated supplement, and quarterly investment reports * Lead the estimation of risk capital and embed estimation and other metrics of capital usage into management reports and decision processes * Prepare/present to senior management and stakeholders on using metrics to evaluate and drive business decisions * Implement financial initiatives and manage work of the department ensuring appropriate staffing and organizational structures are in place * Partner with the revenue areas to improve efficiency, effectiveness, productivity, and/or control * Manage and direct individuals within the infrastructure area through relevant direct reports * Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards. Qualifications: * 15+ years of relevant experience * 8-10+ years of managerial experience * Experience in financial services * Demonstrated financial modeling skills with the ability to drive top down strategic and operational plan * Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication * Ability to build and maintain relationships and interact at all levels of an organization * Demonstrated leadership skills * Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills Education: * Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience * Master's degree preferred This role is within Citi's ICG Finance organization and reporting to the Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) Lead Finance Officer (LFO), David Burg, and supports the Trade business globally.
