This is a new position, reporting to the Vice President of Enterprise Financial Planning,and will leade a team of 8-10 professionals. The Senior Director of FP&A Innovation will create a centralized and focused set of resources to perform these functions which have been fragmented across the business. Through improved partnership and heightened collaboration with business and shared service partners, you will ultimately drive improved quality of analysis, more actionable insights to aid in strategic and operational decision making, better alignment of priorities, milestones and measurements across the enterprise, and overall speed of execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading, driving and managing the overall CVS Health enterprise monthly and quarter management process, including working with enterprise partners to seek feedback and input, and continuously assessing opportunities for improvement.

  • Leading and driving FP&A innovation in:

a. The identification and implementation of innovation in FP&A tools, technology and processes across the enterprise, in close collaboration with key enterprise and business finance partners.

b. The development of new financial analyses, insights and recommendations to support executive-level decision making in support of new business models, products and services across the enterprise, and other critical business decisions.

  • Leading the development of analysis, insights and recommended narratives for key external-facing events and outreach (including quarterly earnings announcements, investor meetings and roadshows, Investor Day, and Board meetings)

  • Work collaboratively in a highly matrixed environment and build partnerships with key constituents of varying professional levels (e.g., Investor Relations, business segment and corporate finance leadership and within the Enterprise Planning department) to gain input, feedback, understanding and/or buy-in on key processes, expectations and/or deliverables, while influencing business decisions through actionable business insights.

  • Manage processes, recommend changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness, problem solve and execute on priorities with minimal day-to-day direction.

  • Influence senior leader decision makers on strategic and operational business decisions through the development of well-researched, organized and clear financial reports and analysis.

Required Qualifications

10+ years of related financial experience to include:

  • Microsoft Office; Microsoft Teams environment; Oracle/SAP budgeting software (or similar technology)

  • Developing financial metrics to facilitate achievement of strategic plan and operating budget

  • Translating financial results and metrics into clear, concise, actionable narratives that influence strategic planning, business decision-making and action

  • Identifying opportunities for improvement, innovation and driving change to improve efficiency, effectiveness, quality and alignment of priorities and results

  • 5+ years' experience managing teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare, PBM, insurance industry experience

  • Masters Degree (in Business or Certification FSA/CPA)


Bachelor Degree (in Finance, Account, Actuarial Science or similar discipline)
