SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

The Sr. Director, Finance Transformation is a pivotal role within the Finance & Accounting organizations and will report to the Chief Accounting Officer. This individual will be responsible for the design and implementation of the technology, policy and strategy which will impact NextDecade's financial systems across the organization as NextDecade's continues its' evolution from a development stage company to the premier LNG operator and owner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define and implement the financial digital transformation roadmap in alignment with our overall business strategy and objectives.

  • Manage the finance project portfolio, ensuring projects and programs contribute to strategic finance objectives and priorities.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with executive sponsors, key stakeholders, business owners and peers on the Finance Leadership Team.

  • Thought leader in finance operational process and systems, consistently delivering performance improvements.

  • Influence operational teams to embrace and succeed in adopting new processes.

  • Manage the team in developing business requirements, process maps and future state processes and controls.

  • Use digital workflows and tools and harness the power of robotic process automation, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, & COMPETENCIES

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, computer science, economics, or a related field. Graduate Degree/MBA Preferred.

  • 10+ years working within the Finance and Accounting function, with proven track record of leading and managing large-scale finance transformation initiatives and projects.

  • Experience with technologies used in the CFO suite- ERP systems (ex. Workday, Oracle, SAP) and other systems used to manage FP&A, Close Automation, P2P, and Consolidation. Strong understanding of financial systems, ERP and ETRM platforms, and emerging technologies.

  • Experience with automated accounting systems, internal controls, and accounting procedures.

  • Highly adaptable to dynamic, changing environments and priorities during project and change management

Preferred Requirements:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with ability to refine/simplify complex budget, finance within the ERP system, and understand the functional areas business events to identify process improvements.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders.

  • Proven leader who fosters an environment of collaboration and excellence

  • Experience in the energy industry or LNG is a plus.

  • PMP Certification would be a plus.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment with occasional work within or outside of a complex construction environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers/fax, filing cabinets, etc. This is primarily a sedentary role; however, the incumbent must be able to stand and/or sit continuously to perform all essential job functions for a full shift.

  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. as required in order to lift files, boxes and office equipment as necessary.

  • Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending, standing on a stool, or climbing as necessary to perform these functions.

  • The incumbent is required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

  • Ability to move throughout all areas of each office/site location and facilities.

  • Able to wear all necessary PPE equipment to perform job functions.
