The Senior Director of Corporate Strategy defines, drives and implements strategy for the organization and individual business units within JCPenney by turning data and customer analysis into actionable insights to guide strategic direction and achieve financial objectives. The role serves as a critical partner for senior leadership across all our business units. The position reports to the Vice President of
Corporate Strategy & Business Development.

Acts as a driving force behind critical strategic, operational and organizational initiatives
Provides thought leadership in developing practical solutions to complex analytical problems
Brings a strong customer-focused, data-driven approach to unlock new insights, drive innovation and create shareholder value
Works in conjunction with business leaders and their teams to identify and analyze important strategic initiatives, develop actionable strategy, and help teams drive execution
Manages a high-performing team that delivers exceptional results
Core Competencies & Accomplishments:
Demonstrated consumer and growth strategy experience
Superior problem solving and analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative
Able to communicate effectively, translating complex ideas into succinct recommendations
Strong leadership skills and experience working with C-level executives with the ability to influence, work collaboratively, and gain consensus across a large organization
Demonstrated ability to implement programs through effective use of communication skills in formal and informal settings
Direct reporting management experience; leading, coaching and mentoring team of direct reports.
Minimum 10 years of progressive business experience, preferably from a top-tier management consulting firm, corporate strategy role, or investment bank. Retail experience highly preferred
MBA from a leading program preferred but not required

Key Accountabilities Include: Portfolio Strategy * Assist the Director of Transform Growth Strategy in developing the transform brands portfolio strategy across all channels. * Contribute to key deliverables, such as the BFY PSP, portfolio selling stories, and various portfolio presentations for senior leaders Agile Blueprint for Growing New Brands * Assist the Director of Transform Growth Strategy in designing the agile blueprint for growing new brands across all channels. * Serve as a key problem solving thought partner in designing a customizable blueprint for growing new brands.
