The Sr. Director, Compensation is responsible for leading the design, implementation and ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of CDK's compensation programs including base salary, incentive compensation, and long-term incentives. Partners with senior leadership to ensure that the compensation design, communication and administration supports CDK's short-term and long-term business objectives. Compensation programs include broad-based, executive and equity compensation design and implementation. Play the primary business partner leader role for the business in providing a tech-centric "outside in" approach to compensation and administration. Manages, coach and develops a team of compensation professionals to meet the business strategy needs.
Position Responsibilities & Essential functions
Evaluates the effectiveness of compensation programs through benchmarking, quantitative, and qualitative methods
Works with senior leadership to develop compensation strategies to support the short-term and long-term needs of the business.
Design and implement broad-based, equity and executive compensation programs
Accountable for materials provided to the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors
Work to ensure that compensation programs and policy are applicable to the current CDK business environment
Partner with business partners, talent management, talent acquisition and other HR areas to ensure that compensation programs are aligned across HR
Direct, mentor and coach the compensation staff to effective compensation approaches and processes
Design and deliver a methodology for annual compensation decision processes that appropriately reinforce a performance-driven culture
Develop and facilitate manager training on how to make and communicate salary decisions to employees.
Align with specific business areas to understand business needs and design, execute and administer appropriate compensation solution.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years of compensation leadership experience, at least 6 of which are in a people leadership perspective
Ability to present clearly and concisely
Knowledge and of compensation administration and design
Executive compensation experience
Experience administering focal review or year-end process
Analytical skills and detail orientation
Experience designing and executing large scale compensation program changes
Ability to travel both internationally and domestically
