How you'll contribute:
As a Sr. Director and Actuary, you'll support variable and fixed annuity asset liability management and risk assessment. This role reports to the Head of Strategic Analysis with a focus on hedge strategy enhancement, modeling, risk analysis, and documentation. This individual will support the asset liability management team in creating tools to identify and measure the risk factors to earnings from product lines with embedded market risk. The individual will play a leading role in developing, improving, documenting hedge related analysis. The individual will require strong technical skill in model building, big data processing, analysis using MS Office, database and various programming language.
In this role, you'll get to:
Be a thought leader in hedging and risk management of variable annuities with living benefit riders (VA), fixed annuities (FA), and structured indexed annuities (SIA), IUL, through hedge strategy enhancement, capital and reserve determination, as well as product design and pricing.
Create and maintain models/tools which can perform business analysis with quick turnaround.
Identify and measure the impact to hedging program from risk factors, including but not limited to actuarial, market, regulatory change.
Propose enhancement and alteration to hedge procedure, instrument selection and hedge target based on risk analysis.
Improve attribution analysis with the focus to improve hedge effectiveness.
Document modeling approach, assumptions and core results.
Coordinate with business constituents in maintaining consistency in production process, implementation schedule, assumptions, modeling approach and regulatory and reporting
We're looking for people who have:
Degree in mathematics or statistics, or actuarial science
Fellowship of Society of Actuaries
Strong computing and programming skills with experience in Python, c/c++, Matlab, VBA, SQL, etc.
Deep knowledge base on VA business, reporting and hedging.
Adaptable to business priorities
Strong communication skills
