Position Summary

The Sr. Dir, Global Financial Systems leads CDK's global financial systems team and is a key member of the global Finance team. This position is responsible for operations of all current financial reporting applications as well as strategic direction of this function going forward as the company enters a period of transformation including a ERP upgrade. This role partners with the Finance User Community and collaborates with IT to evaluate, enhance and deliver world class financial reporting solutions. This role establishes, drives and enforces the overall financial systems strategy and standards.

Position Responsibilities & Essential functions

  • Defines and develops the global financial systems strategy

  • Leads a global team on the implementation of the new global financial systems

  • Identifies opportunities to link existing CDK technologies and systems to improve reporting and analyses

  • Partners with Finance and IT on financial systems strategy and executes on a global basis, including but not limited to Cognos/Tableau for operational reporting, Hyperion for financial reporting and Oracle/Navision for general ledger and Rev Pro for revenue accounting globally

  • Leads the development of proposal requests to external service providers

  • Evaluates and recommends service providers and technology platforms to achieve the strategy

  • Creates business concepts, redesign of processes and information systems as well as hands on project management and coordination of implementations as a business driver

  • Partners closely with the project management office to ensure projects are tested, S-Ox compliant and delivered on-time, with quality

  • Leverages best practices across the company to apply a uniform and consistent approach to future implementations

  • Evaluates and understands risks of business processes and impacts of systems changes and identifies areas for optimization and risk mitigation ensuring a strong control environment

  • Manages global projects effectively while interfacing with teams that use or manage the various systems

  • Able to solicit feedback from various teams and successfully implement

  • Performs research; delivers proposals and ROI analysis on systems solutions

  • Manages and maintains systems while ensuring both S-Ox compliance and technical escalations occur according to SLA's and partner to improve uptime and processes, if and when necessary

  • Recruit and develops CDK's global financial systems talent

Qualifications & Job Requirements

  • BS or graduate degree in MIS or Accounting / Finance

  • Prior oversight and experience with large financial systems implementations

  • Minimum 10 years of experience supporting and implementing various enterprise applications including but not limited to Cognos, Tableau, Oracle, Navision ERP, and Hyperion EPM

  • At least 3 years of successfully leading a global team

  • Knowledge of information system's architectures and technology management practices

  • Excellent project management, leadership and mentoring abilities

  • Proven ability and willingness to remotely manage a global team in a shared services environment

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment

  • Must be detail-oriented

  • Have control mindset, with prior experience as a S-Ox control owner

  • Be proactive, take ownership of deliverables and meet deadlines

  • Ability to maintain established technology relationships finance, I/T and operations

  • Ability to effectively mitigate risks through identification of problems / issues, develop and evaluate options and implement solutions

  • In-depth understanding of financial planning and forecasting processes are an inherent part of the job (ideally practical training in controlling and finance area)

  • Ability to identify and articulate quality standards and processes to technology teams and other business leaders

  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management

  • Ability to work with teams and independently

  • Strong written/verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrate composure in stressful situations

  • Proven track record of improving process and effectiveness

  • Ability to negotiate and influence senior leaders

Reporting to the EVP, Business Leader, Core DMS, the Sr. Director, Network and Telephony Products will be tasked for setting the strategy to drive this Segment (which includes Network LAN hardware, WAN, Telephony (active handsets with voice traffic), Wireless (AP's), Network Security (GRE Tunnels, etc.). This position sits on the Core DMS Leadership team. His/her objective is to create a blueprint for these businesses to drive customer loyalty, revenue, and growth. This role is accountable for strategic planning and execution and P&L responsibility. Willing to consider candidates that reside in Hoffman Estates, IL, Portland, OR or San Jose, CA offices. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Ownership of the full management and positioning of Network and Telephony products, including development and execution of strategic and innovative programs that support customer acquisition/retention, differentiated customer experience, and sales objectives to drive exponential growth: * Serves as the Netwrk and Telephony Products thought leader helping to monitor competitor activity, identify trends/ technologies in the marketplace, evolve best practices, and test opportunities to help drive the business and deliver n key customer needs, including increasing revenue. Sets strategic pricing for this portfolio of products, creates business cases/ models, proposes decisions re: bundling/ unbundling, etc. to best drive growth. * Integrate/ drive synergies acrss this portfolio of products * Accountable for all aspects of the P&L (matrixed ownership/ dotted line to Sales, Operations, and Development). Manage annual budgeting process, forecasting, revenue, spend, ROI and other performance KPIs. * Responsible for providing strategic leadership for the Network and Telephony product grouping which includes: Defining the total addressable market (TAM); Assessing the total market and developing go-to-market product line growth strategy; Interfacing with customers (in partnership with the Sales organization) to better understand how we can evolve our products to best meet their needs and improve their customers' dealership experience; Determining whether new products should be developed internally or added to our portfolio through acquisition * Managing revenue and making financial business decisions as necessary to drive growth targets * Drive strategy and process across the Network and Telephony Products team, setting goals/priorities and using metrics to ensure resources are focused on the right initiatives and working close with other functions across the organization to ensure timely completion. * Must also be able to collaborate effectively and determine who and where the influencers are, empower the influencers with tools to drive the message and brand across the segment, and listen to the internal and external community, engaging in bi-directional dialogue with customers. Partners with broader leadership team to influence, educate and support the rollout of key digital capabilities. * Constantly seek optimization and growth through performance and root-cause analysis, customer segmentation, creative partnerships and more. REQUIRED EXPERIENCES AND COMPETENCIES: * Bachelor's degree required; particularly in Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, or Business Administration; Master's Degree preferred. * 15+ years experience, including experience in related P&L positions within a fast paced organization of approximately $150M * Well-versed in strategic planning processes to drive transformation and growth. In doing so, effectively influences leaders on the strategic direction and leads teams to execute on tactical details. * Must possess financial acumen, budgeting, financial forecasting and P&L experience (driving NPV and margin) * Self-driven to provide direction for Network and Telephony solutions by building internal systems and processes to consistently drive and deliver results * Agility to work cross functionally and across a large, complex matrixed business to accomplish results * Strong executive-level communication skills (written and verbal) with a number of constituencies, including customers, employees, etc. * Proven record of business results and in measuring success via KPIs (acquisition, conversion, and ROI) * Superior leadership skills including proven expertise in decision-making * Aptitude to foster a culture to attract top talent that inspires creativity and innovation * Track record of driving rapid change, transformation and growth * Ability to work effectively in dynamic, rapidly changing, team-based environment * Specific experience/ knowledge of this product's marketplace is required (Automotive experience a plus) CDK Global knows you have passions outside of work.
