The Sr. Dir, Global Financial Systems leads CDK's global financial systems team and is a key member of the global Finance team. This position is responsible for operations of all current financial reporting applications as well as strategic direction of this function going forward as the company enters a period of transformation including a ERP upgrade. This role partners with the Finance User Community and collaborates with IT to evaluate, enhance and deliver world class financial reporting solutions. This role establishes, drives and enforces the overall financial systems strategy and standards.
Position Responsibilities & Essential functions
Defines and develops the global financial systems strategy
Leads a global team on the implementation of the new global financial systems
Identifies opportunities to link existing CDK technologies and systems to improve reporting and analyses
Partners with Finance and IT on financial systems strategy and executes on a global basis, including but not limited to Cognos/Tableau for operational reporting, Hyperion for financial reporting and Oracle/Navision for general ledger and Rev Pro for revenue accounting globally
Leads the development of proposal requests to external service providers
Evaluates and recommends service providers and technology platforms to achieve the strategy
Creates business concepts, redesign of processes and information systems as well as hands on project management and coordination of implementations as a business driver
Partners closely with the project management office to ensure projects are tested, S-Ox compliant and delivered on-time, with quality
Leverages best practices across the company to apply a uniform and consistent approach to future implementations
Evaluates and understands risks of business processes and impacts of systems changes and identifies areas for optimization and risk mitigation ensuring a strong control environment
Manages global projects effectively while interfacing with teams that use or manage the various systems
Able to solicit feedback from various teams and successfully implement
Performs research; delivers proposals and ROI analysis on systems solutions
Manages and maintains systems while ensuring both S-Ox compliance and technical escalations occur according to SLA's and partner to improve uptime and processes, if and when necessary
Recruit and develops CDK's global financial systems talent
Qualifications & Job Requirements
BS or graduate degree in MIS or Accounting / Finance
Prior oversight and experience with large financial systems implementations
Minimum 10 years of experience supporting and implementing various enterprise applications including but not limited to Cognos, Tableau, Oracle, Navision ERP, and Hyperion EPM
At least 3 years of successfully leading a global team
Knowledge of information system's architectures and technology management practices
Excellent project management, leadership and mentoring abilities
Proven ability and willingness to remotely manage a global team in a shared services environment
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Comfortable working in a fast paced environment
Must be detail-oriented
Have control mindset, with prior experience as a S-Ox control owner
Be proactive, take ownership of deliverables and meet deadlines
Ability to maintain established technology relationships finance, I/T and operations
Ability to effectively mitigate risks through identification of problems / issues, develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
In-depth understanding of financial planning and forecasting processes are an inherent part of the job (ideally practical training in controlling and finance area)
Ability to identify and articulate quality standards and processes to technology teams and other business leaders
Ability to communicate effectively with senior management
Ability to work with teams and independently
Strong written/verbal communication skills
Demonstrate composure in stressful situations
Proven track record of improving process and effectiveness
Ability to negotiate and influence senior leaders
