A strong Sr. Cloud Engineer with focus on automation, continuous integration, and deployment, with a deep understanding of the offerings within the AWS cloud technology stacks. An emphasis on security is required. You are a thought leader who will design and deliver, fit for purpose infrastructure & solutions to meet business needs and automated self-service solutions to address complex engineering needs. A passionate design leader who can derive client insights, influence and collaborate with a variety of teams. The Enterprise IT Cloud Services team offers professional services that support the selection, deployment and ongoing management of various cloud-based resources. This includes areas of cloud automation, governance and container platform management. We continually challenge the status quo, and each other, to define and adopt best practices by taking an agile approach to deliver quickly and respond to feedback.
This position will sit permanently in Shelton, CT.
Assist in architecture design while supporting our well-informed hybrid cloud strategy and manage the adaption process
Design, configure, manage, and maintain the deployment and operations in Amazon EC2, AWS, VPC, S3, and other AWS services
Identify the top cloud solutions to successfully meet the strategic needs of the company
Work closely with IT security to monitor the company's cloud privacy
Respond to technical issues in a professional and timely manner
Work closely with software engineering teams to improve maintainability and reliability of services
Build, configure and support continuous integration and application deployment into Docker containers
Provide ongoing administration and support for Linux (RHEL and CentOS) systems
Work concurrently on multiple projects
As a Sr. Cloud Engineer, you have:
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology preferred
Overall 10 years of IT experience and 5 years' experience designing, executing and supporting IT cloud solutions
Must have experience with Amazon AWS experience, including EC2, S3/Glacier, Route53, VPC, EBS and Security Groups
Excellent knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current computing trends
Effective communication skills (written and verbal) to properly articulate complicated cloud reports to management and other IT development partners
Experience in design of application deployment and operations in Amazon Cloud environment
Strong familiarity with the installation and configuration of Docker, EC2, or other virtual containers
AWS CLI experience
Experience with Microservices architecture and/ or Microservice design patterns
Experience with Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure
Preferred experience with delivering code using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) best practices and DevOps to production
Experience with VMware vSphere
