TITLE : Sr. Development Manager

The Sr. Manager Development & Technical Sales Associate (TSA) will be positioned within the Leadership Team for the Industrial Bandsaw business. This key role will be responsible for driving key initiatives and projects in alignment with our strategic plan. This position will direct and manage the TSA Development Program, will partner with Human Resources & Global Commercial Sales Leadership to drive talent development activities for commercial bandsaw team members. This position will also serve as a special projects manager for the commercial team, delivering results on key strategic initiatives.


  • Lead cross-functional Initiatives focused on business and talent development programs that align with our organization's Global strategic goals

  • Identify global organizational development needs, investigate, and implement new processes to support commercial sales efforts

  • Partner closely with global leadership team members to develop and manage actionable, measurable projects that accelerate sales growth and drive sales process optimization

  • Manage, coordinate and support various projects/programs (i.e. VOC initiatives, sales reporting analysis, etc.)

  • Manage the TSA program, with direct supervisory responsibility for all TSAs within the field structure. This will include the following responsibilities:

  • Manage the curriculum, skills assessments, certification process, and other key program initiatives

  • Facilitate on-site training for new hires including technical and sales skill courses

  • Utilize technology to host web-based training including both e-learning and webinars

  • Partner with Regional Sales Managers to advise on curriculum, program expectations, and TSA development

  • Host necessary communication rhythms with TSAs and Regional Sales Managers

  • Complete field work-withs to further development of TSAs

  • Aide in succession planning for the commercial bandsaw team, utilizing the TSA Program to build field bench strength

  • Dotted line leadership of Sawing Solutions Group to create and manage development platforms

  • Analyze sales statistics to formulate programs that assist the selling organization in delivering key objectives

  • Provide leadership and succession planning that delivers a continuous learning organization

  • Promote the sharing of best practices across the sales organization

  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communication, or related field is required

  • 5+ years of experience implementing, facilitating, and managing training programs

  • Must have excellent relationship building skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with and influence various levels of employees; excellent written communication and presentation skills are also required

  • Must be detail oriented, and exhibit proven project and time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively in accordance with organizational objectives

  • Must be able to think critically to synthesize findings from analysis and draw conclusions

  • Ability to exhibit Stanley Black & Decker's Leadership Values is required

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required

  • Proficiency with or other CRM is strongly preferred

  • Proven experience leading with direct involvement in supporting sales strategy, organizational design, talent/performance management, and sales force optimization activities is desired
