Our PPD Enterprise Data team is at the center of all data flows, assets to inform data science, advanced analytics, data sharing, data engineering and robust APIs. The Enterprise Data Group (E-Data) owns our data, the cloud, and data analytics. This team within E-Data manages development, architecture and design for integration projects. We are seeking a Senior Systems Developer to work with key stakeholders and technical teams to build system solutions. This is a great opportunity in an integral department of our organization.

Essential Functions:

  • Designs and develops components and services according to specifications within a team environment.

  • Prepares detailed system documentation including requirements, specifications, test plans and user manuals.

  • Performs unit, system and validation testing as required.

  • Collaborates with business systems analysts, business partners and sponsors to understand requirements.

  • Works with Architect on solution design.

  • Coordinates application deployments with Operations staff.

  • Works with business partners and sponsors to analyze and address support and training requests during and after deployment.

  • Contributes to system development standards and process improvements.

  • Serves as a knowledge source for the E-Data group on systems development.

  • Provides guidance to peers and junior staff members in executing systems development responsibilities.

  • Ensures all activities are performed with quality and compliance.

.Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent knowledge of SQL, Snowflake, Azure Dev Ops and GIT

  • Experience with Talend ETL tools

  • Experience with API tools, Oracle SOA or Mulesoft

  • Expert knowledge of basic relational database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server) and languages (PL/SQL, SQL)

  • Experience with Python

  • Expert knowledge of Data Warehouse platforms (Snowflake preferred)

  • Strong experience in Data Security Standards

  • Excellent documentation skills

  • Client focused approach with strong interpersonal skills

  • Must be able to multitask and pay close attention to detail

  • Strong logic, analysis, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication skills, with all levels of the organization

  • Experience in a Clinical Research Organization (CRO) preferred.

  • Knowledge of Clinical Regulatory Standards and Computer System Validation preferred.
