Univision is seeking an exceptional Senior Designer/Animator for the Digital Entertainment Team. The Digital Entertainment Team is a group of passionate storytellers, editors, writers, journalists and producers that love and live Hispanic entertainment.

Our mission is to create the most engaging content in Hispanic media and develop the most powerful entertainment content for Hispanics in the United States with a high level of storytelling.

The Senior Designer/Animator will produce and oversee digital creative content for video and social media as part of a creative production team within the Univision Entertainment digital unit.

To be successful in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of graphic design, styles and layout techniques both for TV and digital formats. You should also have experience executing design projects both for digital and on-air from conception to publication, including show concept and graphics development, video elements design and animation, templates and complex full stories animations.

Ultimately, you will ensure the design team develops engaging and innovative concepts through developing high-quality pieces on tight deadlines. It is also key part of the role to have an open and healthy communication with the rest of the production team. Job Responsibilities

  • Design and/or animate original pieces for digital video and social media projects, including illustrations and infographics

  • Review the work of junior or external designer to ensure alignment with look and feel and quality standards of the digital entertainment team

  • Ensure Univision brand consistency across different projects both in Univision.com and social media

  • Build and maintain communication with different design and product teams within Univision to receive input, official materials and delivery of assets for cross-functional projects

  • Participate in team brainstorming to generate ideas for content production concepts and promotions

  • Increase interaction through innovative and clever design in digital products customized for different social media platforms

  • Stay up to date with industry developments, social media and digital trends and tools

Required Skills & Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience graphic design and animation for digital products.

  • Experience in visual storytelling and digital video narratives.

  • Hands-on experience with image editing software, like Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator and After Effects

  • 3D animation a plus

  • Attention to visual details

  • Meet deadlines, ability to work under pressure while remaining calmed and able to collaborate with a diverse team

  • BSc degree in Design, Visual Arts, Animation or relevant field

  • Technical knowledge of digital film and editing workflows

  • Highly organized

  • Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) required both speaking and writing

Serve as brand steward building the brand platform, look & feel, through all projects. Supervise all aspects of photo shoots including budgets, photographer selection, casting, shot selection, scheduling and art direction. Responsible for the delivery of wide variety of projects on time and within given budgets. Create high-quality collateral pieces from New Ship Inaugurals materials to Fleet and Destination brochures that can range from single pages up to 140 pages. Collaborate with Copywriters and Creative Manager to ensure all work is consistently meeting creative brand standards. Provide senior level expert creative direction for development of assets with external vendors and partners including illustrators, photographers and digital agencies. Work autonomously on strategic issues with clients and is capable of managing a variety of projects ranging from small pieces to complex multichannel campaigns. Successfully manage a large workload while bringing fresh direction and insight for a large variety of projects. Supervise, train and coach junior designers, production artists and external vendors to ensure work meets the highest creative standards. Deliver internal presentations to senior management. Ensure and oversee creative execution of the highest quality ensuring that all projects are released to error-free to vendors and meet the highest possible production standards. Adheres to creative department policies and procedures for quality control and work quality. Serve as a Brand Steward assisting the creative department adhere to and develop brand positioning. Perform other job related functions as assigned. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design and/or Advertising preferably from Design/Fine Art Institution or equivalent experience required. EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years' experience in a corporate or agency creative department required. Cruise or travel industry experience a plus. Global advertising agency experience preferred. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Must have strong graphic design skills. Capable of leading and executing all creative aspects of a project as needed and have demonstrated an ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously and have a strong business acumen. Work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organization and communication skills. Detail oriented with the ability to prepare files that are printer ready and meet exacting production standards. Strong conceptual skills, including creative design solutions within the constraints of the Internet. Exceptional client interaction skills exhibited in past job experience. Fluency in current graphic design practices and web production software, such as Adobe Creative Suite. Ability to create superior, original designs for Print and the Web; and high quality printer ready files. Candidate must present a PDF portfolio of sample work to be considered.
