Harley-Davidson is on a mission to the lead the electrification of the Motorcycle Industry and excited about adding top Engineering talent to our Product Development Center with focus on development and production launch of EV vehicles. We are looking for a Sr. Designer to join an experienced team developing the next generation EV components for H-D's future portfolio of both high and low voltage electric vehicles.

In this position you will:

  • Design, integrate, and deliver EV component/system designs (Battery, Motor, Charger) from concept to production.

  • Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to design, develop and deliver EV component/system designs to production.

  • Create CAD models, large virtual assemblies and detailed drawings for EV motorcycle components/systems while utilizing advanced surfacing techniques within Creo.

  • Create engineering change notices utilizing Product Life Cycle Management (PLM).

  • Demonstrate in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in delivering optimal designs while adhering to project targets, performance objectives, high quality, and cost minimization.

  • Create written/graphical documentation that supports engineering guidelines, engineering drawings, assembly documentation, and tolerance studies.

  • Mentor other designers, mechanics, and outside suppliers assigned to development projects.

Education Required:

  • An Associate degree in Mechanical Design or related technical field. Mechanical Bachelor's degree preferred.

Knowledge & Experience Required:

  • The successful candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years relevant experience. In addition, they will have demonstrated the following:

  • Examples of delivering mechanical component designs to the appropriate quality, cost and timing objectives; as well as taking manufacturing and assembly processes into consideration.

  • Proficiency in CAD and PLM systems.

  • The ability to apply sound design practices to engineering drawings, including GD&T.

  • Strong communication skills.
